Super vidéo ! Je débute et ça donne envie de progresser aussi vite que toi... Merci pour l'histogramme que tu as posté sur le temps passé à pratiquer sur les 2 premières années, ça donne un bon repère pour se fixer des objectifs.

I've noticed a tendency to overtighten your bow. (the hair should be a little relaxed/not completely straight -was getting better as you progressed though). your violin is in tune that's really good. and one little thing about the left hand, don't grip the neck like you're trying to keep it from falling. your shoulder is supposed to provide the most support to the violin. a tight grip on the left hand will make it hard to shift. different strings have different angle brackets when bowing. one will get used to it with time but don't neglect its importance.

Thanks for the advices 🤗. Yes, I have a hard time with my left hand. And since I don't have a teacher right now, it's not getting better. I do hope one day to do vibrato and that will never happen if I keep my hand like this 🙁

Your bow hairs are too tight! Loosen it a bit. The bow should be slightly bent in upper middle part. Overtightening the bow can break it soon. Take care of it.

I noticed that your bow is above the fingerboard, it needs to be between the bridge and the fingerboard, this will make the sound more even. Very nice your progress, I am also a beginner adult.

it's even more difficult without a teacher. Since lockdown (in march) I almost didn't practiced and had no teacher so it's hard to pick up the violin and put a routine again to play everyday... Good luck to you !

Great progress! I think Ode to Joy was the first song I learned too, like many of us lol. I'm also an adult beginner. It's difficult making time to practice throughout the week given responsibilities but the progress is so rewarding.

Indeed. I am an adult lerner as well, started playing at 32. It has been a few months, and was curious to know how does someone play in their sixth month. Yes, when the bow and finger produce a note in its proper intonation, that indeed is very rewarding.

finally an honest learning video, well done great progress, usually people onyou tube are playing with vibrato in fifth position after six months, and others believe them and are then put off the instrument when they cant do the same, much better being honest like yourself, its a long hard journey and impossible to rush.

Yeah !!! You can be proud of you ! However, you need to try to keep your left hand more straight as possible without any tense between the thumb and the neck because your left hand often collapse. Keep it and thumb up !

I’d like to know how the first week she had all the fingerings memorized and doesn’t look at the fingerboard once…. As a beginner, unless you’re a prodigy, you don’t know every note. I’m not too sure about this one.

I also started violin as an adult. Looks like you started 2.5 months before me. Had you played any instrument before you started violin? I was 48 when I started. I had played some other instruments so I could read music. I had a vague idea what I was in for when I got my first violin because I knew that there was no frets on a violin and I had played a guitar for a short time so knew the higher up the fingerboard the length between the notes were shorter and intonation was not going to be easy and I am left handed but I play like right handed do so bowing would be difficult. I am now learning some pieces for my grade 3 violin exam that I hope to do in the near future.

@@refaaalam8800 it's a lot of money, that's why I didn't bought it but rent it at first (~20€ / month) the best is to find a music renting place or a luthier that rent violin it's the cheapest. If you really want to buy one you can look up 'what to look for when buying a violin' video from 'the online piano & violin tutor' channel. She has a lot of good cheap violin in her description (stentor II 1500 at 180$ or cecilio cvn 300 at same price) look up her video description she has links to the violin and to her reviews

No ! Don't worry it's not slow, take your time. The first week I was on holiday so I had lot of free time and practiced 4 hours just the first 2 days with bowing and open strings. The first week I practiced almost 8 hours. 11 hours the second week. I was really dedicated to learn but had the chance to have a lot of free time to do so.

I tracked all the time I played on excel and have here imgur.com/a/kAfm3pE a graph with all the time spent playing the violin per week for the first 2 years
