My mom said to me about 4 to 5 years ago when i was 16 that she cannot admit I'm her son just because I take stuffed animals at school. Now at the age of 19 I wouldn't give damm even if she told me that. It's her lose. I never leave my stuffed animals.

I have always had stuffed animals and I am 33. I wore out a few of them and had to re buy them on ebay because I loved them so much. I have alligator stuffed animals who I love and sleep with and even take when traveling. I mean "Mr. Bean" has his teddy. Oh, yeah...my gators are in my profile picture...LOL! I’m 39 I still have stuffed animals on my bed. I lost my favorite stuffed animal but around 2018 I found it on eBay. So I’m real happy again I have my little kitten. My parents got rid of a lot of my stuffed animals behind my back. Each stuffed animal to me brings me a good memory of where I got it, or who gave it to me.

I'm 24 And all my stuffed animals are 20 years old We grew up together And we are staying together. Dogs, bears, ravens, I even got robots. I'm still a child at heart. I don't care. I will never get rid of the child in my heart. My new animals are Pepa pig and her brother George two pigs, two panda bears and one new dog. In total I got about 14 in total. 😅

I got the live action Christopher Robin Eeyore (he is limited addition and costed nearly $50! So I definitely agree with the art thing!) for my 22 birthday this last December 22, 2018 and I sleep with him every night and am attached to him so much and I also sleep with my baby blanket from when I was first born in 96, as a perfectly “normal” female. I do have anxiety and depression which stuffies help with! I remember vividly turning into a teenager and not wanting to quit playing with barbies or baby dolls and guess what now that I’m 22 I bought a reborn doll which is a highly realistic collectible specifically for adults to love. I remember when I was 4 I had a Bugs Bunny that I took everywhere with me and 20+ years later I still have him. When I was in the 8th grade, I loved to go to Build A Bear Workshop to make myself new plushies. I'm 29 now and still find comfort in them. I am even buying more because they make me happy. While I am probably going to downsize my stuffed animal collection by the end of the year, there are still a good number of them that I am solid on keeping. Especially the stuffed Elmo that I've had and slept with since I was a baby. There is nothing wrong and can even be good according psychologist. I grew up in an abusive eviroment. My father would whip me for waking with a nightmare. Not just a spanking either. This happened between age 4 and 6 when most kids having them. When I was 6 I was allowed to pick a toy out at a 5 and some store with my grandmother. I picked a teddy bear that she thought was adorable. I slept and talked to it in my early years until I was about 13. Pressure from my older brother made me give it up. My mother put my bear and a few other things to save for me when I got older. When I was in my late 20's my mother gave me that box on a visit. I about cried seeing that old teddy bear. I have no idea why I felt so connected again. I began sleeping cuddled to it every night after. Then one day I had to say goodbye. The fuzzy fabric had worn thru in many places and stuffing came out one leg. I couldn't find the strength to just trash him. Instead I put him in a box and set him just outside my apartment dumpster where seniors leave trash. He was gone for good. Years have past. My mother died. Then this year I lost both sisters and my older brother. The job I had before my medical problems got me fire involved traveling all the time. So I have few friends now and live alone. After having a near death from leukemia I became depressed. Just by chance I thought about that teddy. I found one identical except a lighter color on eBay. I told my doctor I started sleeping with a teddy again and he thought it was great. My blood pressure dropped. My blood sugar levels dropped from less stress. Even my depression of losing family members eased. Many could benefit if they just forget what some may think. Why I live a teddy goes back to my childhood. If you had one as a child it may help you.

I too was spanked all the time growing up and then I was abused by my parents two times between 18-20 years old. Ok so random but I recently found a small stuffed animal from my childhood and I decided to take it out with me today. It's crazy how much comfort it gave me (I have GAD) while I was navigating the city! More than I thought. I was wondering if it was normal to be carrying around the stuffed animal (who I have now named Kitty) because I'm 28 years old so I looked up this video. So glad I did because this is some great info and I also happen to be transitioning from a smartphone (I'm addicted) to a feature phone or "dumb phone" so her discussing how adults use these devices as comfort items made me think it will be an easier transition having Kitty by my side 😊

I saw your “Avoiding Spiritual Psychosis” on TikTok and came to KZbin to find a grounding meditation and the same video showed up in my KZbin shorts. So I looked at your channel and say this one. I bought myself a stuff animal for Christmas because in therapy I remembered I never had a stuffed animal growing up. My therapist suggested I get one. Little did I know my daughter over heard me talking about to a friend and she got me a build a bear that say “I love you mommy” with her voice and she named it after my favorite tv character. It’s so odd on how much this has been healing for my inner child. I know my guides are showing me I am on the right path!

My mother many years ago used to say: You will play and sleep with stuffed animals until you have a boyfriend. I have had a boyfriend for 9 years and I cuddle with him and my stuffed animals. And he also likes to cuddle with me and his stuffed animals. That's how it is ! As an aside, I have been trying to get pregnant for two years. Playing with stuffed animals is just good exercise to cuddle with future kids. Plushies are child substitues for us both.

I’m 20 and in my case, stuffed animals have helped me sooo much to reduce my anxiety and make me feel safer. Ever since the beginning of 2021, I’ve been on a pretty difficult medical journey, with lots of doctors, examinations, painful words and actions from “medical professionals” and people in general, flare ups, chronic pain, having to stop my career at college for a while because of health, dealing with insurance, etc. And to be honest, if cuddling a stuffed animal or carrying a small plushie around and specially to the hospital during difficult times helps me…why would it be wrong? It isn’t hurting anybody. I do catch glimpses of people’s expressions when they get a glimpse at my backpack and see I have a plushie inside, but it really does make me feel better and lifts up my mood to have something cute and fluffy with me. I been a Mom for almost 38 years. Somewhere when my boys were 11 and 7 I had a real interest. I been collecting for 30 years. I have a few collectable collectable Steiff. My kids got them for me. I like dolls too. I think it brings out ones nurturing side. When my children were infants and toddlers I didn't need them but when they needed less snuggling I can cuddle my animals.

I had WAY TOO MANY stuffed animals I had to clean out of my room, due to Bed Bug issues. I figured maybe some other kids or adults needed them more than I did.

I sleep with a grand total of 9 Charlie Bears (absolutely these things are art, some are worth over $100!) on my side of the bed. I also have one special Teddy that my aunt made for me by hand and a Gund brand Teddy I named Mitzi and I can't sleep without her. My husband is never upset that I sleep with them, but my parents are a different story. My mom just can't stop going on that plushies are nothing for a grown woman to sleep with and has even tried to convince me to "let me help you put them away for good, it's not healthy for you to be keeping them." To say this even after I was hospitalized for 3 days after having a major seizure, and seeing my bear Mitzi in my arm in that hospital? That bear was with me because I asked my husband to bring her to me. Plushies are nothing to be ashamed of!

I'm a 27 year old guy with a living girlfriend and she and I both love love stuffed animals. She's not judge mental. And neither am I. She's 28. We both live stuffed animals. But we both have a disability. But we both are still really smart. Ok with that being said. Me I have extremely bad anxiety. Be my girlfriend we don't live together but we're in the process of getting a place together. But the reason why I still got my stuffed animals is cuz I have anxiety and I even sleep with one of them at night I just recently bought a Stitch from Lilo & Stitch he is so cute and I love him so very much. And plus I get extremely lonely at night and my stuffed animals are there for me. As well as my girlfriend we both talk every single night on FaceTime before bed. We see each other 5 days a week all day and we hang out every weekend except for when it's time for bed that's right get really lonely.
