This was a really good concept, but it would have been better with a few more age ranges. There is a huge gap between 1953 and 1990. Someone born in the 70's would have been a good addition to bridge that gap.

I believe it. When you adjust the box office for inflation, basically the entire Top 10 are almost comprised of old movies. Gone with the Wind would've made waaaay more than Avatar with the same ticket prices. Sure, back then re-releases were common but nonetheless there were definitely more people watching the movies. So, or we had one theater in each corner by that time or the movies stayed longer than we are used to nowadays.
