I'm glad that Frozen put in Hans character. For decades they had princesses seemingly falling in love with people they just met and getting married. Hans showed how stupid that whole ideal is. If you don't truly know someone, how can you truly trust them.

The Ursula song doesn't promote anything bad. The song is about real life issues that used to be very common. The misconception that women were lower than men and men just needed a quiet housewife. The song is bad because we know it shouldn't be true, but is. She also wanted Ariel's voice so win win. It's the same reason people love/hate Gaston. That's why it's not bad to feel an emotion for a character. It's literally the whole point of stories and movies, to make you feel something for the hero or villains or whatever is happening. That's what hooks people into fandoms and Marvel and DC and others. You like the character and the story. Sometimes you like the villain, like the big Joker blowup. Even though he was a terrible man you felt bad for him or empathized ect.
@LizChanFish4 жыл бұрын
Agreed with Adam. It'd be one thing to make commentary on how this behavior is unacceptable to be presented in children's media, but the films clearly identify that these are problematic issues because they're portrayed by villains or just terrible people. There's no reason to be up in arms about it in that sense.
@MorbidPastels4 жыл бұрын
I disagree with the same reasoning. The characters were made to be bad and for people to be mad and upset with their actions so naturally they're going to be. Just like how people are made to feel a certain way about side or main characters. It's not bad for others to get mad at a character they're supposed to be mad at.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve grown more in love with that Disney moment. Ursula is a villain, like one of Disney’s most truly evil creations. This song is meant to play at the insecurities people really feel. It’s meant to draw on and taunt the parts of Ariel that she herself hasn’t learned to love yet. And it feels even darker because the movie actually toys with those insecurities and practically proves them right when Urs shows up with that voice and takes everything with her vanity, but in the end that witch dies with nothing. I think when Disney reimagined the story that was something they really wanted to get across, and they did it well.

Adam doesn't seem to understand that the point of a villain is for you to hate and get mad at them. People aren't mad at Disney for making the villains they're mad at the villains for being villains which is their job.

Wasn’t the whole point of Ursula singing was trying to get Ariel to agree to give up her voice? It makes sense that she would try to phrase it as “this is how you get a man” she manipulating Ariel not making a statement. I don’t get why people are getting upset about it?

Honestly the most infuriating character of all time in Disney for me is the step mother

I appreciate the comments about getting mad at villains being bad. Particularly during the Poor Unfortunate Souls. I didn't see a reason to get mad until others were saying why they were getting mad. It's a villain's song so of course I'm not going to take her words to heart! And I thought maybe that was how things were at one time in history so Ursula was reflecting an idea of the past, but actually getting MAD? Eh. Han's betrayal stirred a little something because it was cruel to use Anna like that. The Dumbo scene was what upset me most. Especially since it resulted in so much sadness and hardship for Dumbo his mom. I watched the cartoon recently (I actually got angry at the scene from this video) and I have a whole new appreciation for it than I did when I was little. I love that cartoon!

jose ramiro reynoso ruiz Literally the whole point of villains are to make people angry lol so if people are getting angry that means Disney or any movie company did their job. No one is mad that the character is a villain they are mad at the things that are doing which is the point! So you calling people stupid for doing what the movie was intended for them to do is stupid. If people are getting mad at my villain for the things they are doing then I would be happy because that means I made a good villain.

I genuinely expected Judge Claude Frollo to appear in this and am surprised he didn't. Seriously, most vicious disney villain ever.

I love how Brian logics himself out of being docked points - "I'm not gonna be mad, because..." lol

Ursula being misogynist actually could be a good business tactic for her contracts.
@Phalxxx4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's kinda weird they're presenting that like its the movie's moral or something. Ursula's super manipulative and preying on Ariel's fears and desires to convince her to sign a contract willingly.

You did not expect the guy being evil in frozen your first time watching. He literally doesn’t show any signs of being bad until that moment.

@@Evangellionua Yes, he was. All he really wanted was the throne because he would never have it unless he married into another kingdom. I laughed when Anna punched him on the face at the end.

It was p obvious. Disney doesn't do love triangles, and Ana ending up with Kristoff could not have been more obvious. The other guy had to either die or be the bad guy

Then you obviously were not watching the same movie as everyone else, because it was clear to me from the first scene he appeared in that he was going to be a villain. The only question was major or minor. Your powers of observation are pathetic, to say the least.
