What’s even better is how Tim has appeared in movies and specifically not tied them to On Cinema. He was in Us during season…..9 I think? And they said maybe they’d tie it in somehow if he ended up actually going to the Oscar’s but they didn’t and he was too good in that movie so it doesn’t exist in the On Cinema Universe. And I love that because it really would ruin the immersion of this arms race between two bad actors.

The good news is you can just rewatch the series over and over... it's very comfy background noise and the humor is extremely layered so you often notice new things. Like for example Gregg saying "the beginning's a little slow", I didn't know until I caught a bit of the movie at the gym, but the first scene is the only scene Tim is in, so he's throwing shade at Tim there. Love it.

That's so right of you to say that about Josh Trank. When Tim gave his shout out to Josh, most of us were flat out mesmerized. Frozen in place. Couldn't move for a little while due to the profound love and magical moment that Tim made possible with that authentic non-scripted tip of the hat to John Trunk. A lot of us were reminded of Will Ferrill's character in Old School. It was like we'd shot ourselves in the neck with a Trankulizer dart at our some kid's backyard swimming pool birthday party.

It's such a weird coincidence that Gregg caused a re-write by revealing the ending of Decker in his On Cinema on Location segment and that re-write just so happened to involve burning his entire video collection. It's as if the universe or some unknown force was punishing him.

Gregg should have done the decent thing and recused himself from reviewing Fantastic Four because, as a friend of Tim Heidecker who acted in the movie he clearly is too close to the production. One could theoretically say the same about Tim but in fact his review was accurate: it was a straight 6-bagger and it's great to get an insight from someone so closely involved with the craft of the movie. Great review from Tim and Fantastic Four joins that elite pantheon of films to receive 6 bags of On Cinema popcorn: the highest possible rating reserved only for instant classics.

He's the "fan" who tipped Gregg off about the video shop getting rid of their VHS tapes. Now Gregg has somewhere to go (a storage unit) while Tim and his family have annexed his apartment. It is both a disgusting and brilliant plan.

I give this episode five bags of popcorn, especially for Tim's takedown of Ant Man. He's an Ant Man, sure, but a strong one, so I commend him for taking him down. That is the strength of Decker. "Decker: Port of Call Hawaii" was a passion project in the worst possible sense. Written, directed, and acted by Tim for Tim's vanity. What makes "Port of Call" an even greater tragedy is that it squandered the momentum of Decker's first installment and almost entirely ignores the more talented supporting actor, Gregg Turkington. A star in the making? Not in that universe. I'm all too happy to see Gregg back in his role as expert; even considering the sway Tim has over this show, when on the same stage as Gregg, it's impossible for Tim to not rest in his shadow.
