There is no reason for that. It's simply our brain understanding. These steps are the results of many years of dedication of great mathematician who came to the result that it can only done by this way. And so the solution once formed is passed on and on. Btw there are many students who get to these conclusion by themselves.

First you have to find that the difference between two terms of special series make ap or gp then according to that if difference it is in ap then we use this swifting method

If I subtract and add 1 from each of the terms I will get: (6-1)+(12-1)+(20-1)+(30-1)+(42-1)+..... Now if I further simply it, I get a series like: {(2×3)-1}+{(3×4)-1}+{(4×5)-1}+{(5×6)-1}+{(6×7)-1}...... Which I shall consider as first equation I can consider 2+3+4+5+6+... as one series whose nth term can be given as (n+1)on solving And 3+4+5+6+7+...as another series whose nth term is given as (n+2) If I combine these equations I will get {(n+1)(n+2)}(-1) from the first equation Sir I need your help to get subtracted by -1 instead of multiplied by -1 If I get it subtracted by -1 I Will get the equation
