Hui, that just ended well. Good catch! Sorry that I might have to add something to the generation of the collapse. At the end of each of your turns, the canopy was about in front of you, the you quickly exit the turn, which makes the canopy to gain hight and you to swing back underneath it. This though will reduce your line tension, making a collapse more likely to occur if the air is turbulent. So another takeaway should also be to try depleating the energy better and reduce the pitch up and swing back momentum at the end of each turn. Please don't understand me wrong I don't want to criticise. I also often so, since it is fun. But if the air is moving I try to stay below the glider all the time to reduce the risk of a collapse. I totally agree with David. The main lesson learned from this is that you must avoid (when needed, i.e. the airmass is bumpy or turbulent) to put yourself in conditions where the collapse is likely to occur. If you decide to do it anyway, you must manage your wing precisly as mentionned by david. Nice feedback anyway !!

Hey, thanks for sharing.... good thing the collapse was on the outside!
@apogeeparagliding

Glad ur ok. Perhaps there was insufficient outside brake to keep that tip from rolling under. As you turned left,the R wingtip begins to turn perpendicular to the wind direction. Combine wind direction/wingloading one side/not enough w outside brake.) With the pressure being more loaded on the left (which is what held the wing together) that could be enough to distort the canopy into a lil deflation like that. Brake input, (esp outside brake when banked) prevents deflation from occurring. Here's to more happy flying ahead! Thank you for sharing. Hope this helps! Cheers..

Thanks for sharing and discussing the risks. Forget the other comment schooling you about "what and what not" 👍

Had that kind of collapses when learning wing overs. The point where you have to use opposite break to keep the stiffness in the wing... I didn't, or I did it too late, and it always collapsed.

Hey there! Thanks for sharing! Sorry but what about these loops on both sides directly beneath the speederhandles at sec. 33... speeder?

Maybe an simple pilot mistake?! ...don't look like turbulent air, watch the other glider.
@TheFlyingBandits

My mistake was that I flew without enough safety margin. The collapse was caused by turbulence wich I obviously didn't expect there...
@RokHkavsc

@@TheFlyingBandits i think it was not turbulence...it was simply your mistake. Classic over steering and negative spin.

@@RokHkavsc I don't think so. He was just initiating the turn when the collapse happened. And he was very close to the side of the ridge where it's likely to encounter some wind shear. Also, when the outer side collapse on my 2liner for lack of brake input on the outside - it's usually not that big. I'm a lot more uptight when I'm flying my 2liner close to the ground than when flying a C glider. Even some minor turbulence can make my heart skip a beat.

@@RokHkavsc wow.. so you tell a guy that flies a 2-Liner, that his feeling of turbulence isn't right? You haven't even been there. Pretty clear it wasn't a negative spin? With more pressure in the outside it wouldn't have happened, true! But this video is great, because we all have been playing close to the ground, not expecting anything and all over sudden this little bit of extra break pressure would have saved your ass.
