Roland Martin said you don't need more than 3 rod's and reel's. I can't believe you need that much equipment. I get the the batteries, tow rope, charger etc. Not 25 rod's and reel's. So much fishing tackle you could never use in a life time. This winter I down sized my gear. I use the KISS method. I have a back pack, soft bag for soft baits and a Plano Hardbox. 4 rod's and reel's. Soft bag for pliers,knife,flash light, side cuts for hooks in your hand. I bank fish if I have to walk back. Then I decide what I need and I go get it and get back to fishing. But I know where it is without having to waste time. I decided to go Pro Bank fishing. Just like KVD on his boat. It works for me! I can't imagine anyone being better prepared, than Kevin. I've utilized most of everything he's talked about. My crankbaits are organized by depth and colors. I don't have as many spinnerbaits as he does, but they are organized by size and color, as well. Same things with my plastics. I have speed bags set up for craws in one, worms or stickbaits in another, along with back ups for each. I have a jig box set up the same, by size and color. Everything is labeled and put in with the label up. I have a separate large top loaded tackle bag for my boat and have a backpack, sling pack and a waist pack for when I pond fish or use my buddy's smaller boat. Nothing is left to chance. Last year, I added a portable Hydrowave. Rods and reels are set up with a different technique in mind. He's the man, for sure. I've met him twice and he couldn't have been nicer.

Kevin's videos are always informative in a very relaxed fishing partner sort of way. At 66 years old I have seen many come and go but none as laser precision at finding and catching fish.....consistently. It would be a dream come true to spend one day on the water with Kevin. .

My son is going to love when he's older and understands KVD is a fan of Metallica. Metallica is his favorite band. Maybe because he heard them almost 24-7 while my wife was pregnant and The outlaw torn off S&M was playing as he made his debut to the world.

KVD Mustad split rings are some of the toughest split rings out there...they're so tuff I had a headache put them on and off....I hate them...
@megasif9 жыл бұрын
Steve Owens I'm telling you KVD split ring makes me mad....They practically destroyed two of my pliers. They're so strong, they're stronger than those big and thick split rings you see on the 5" Tsunami lures. I suppose if you want strong split rings, you get them but they're still a pain in the ass to put them on. It's ridiculous. They flew all over the place...I lost them in the carpets and I've even got my hooks stuck in the carpet...so I had to cut my new carpet..Omy...I don't recommend them at all. You have to show me the Brit's clip. I'm in a market for one. I have the Tactical Angler but that one hinders the movement of the lure b/c of it's triangular ends...However, Backlash Lure Clips and Breakaway Spin Links seem to solve that problem...I still want one that has a rounder clip like a Norman...more like a circle at the end....
@megasif9 жыл бұрын
Steve Owens The Breakaway looks like a good choice. I think I will try the Backlash first personally.

Plano needs to create boxes like the Chinese with the groves in the middle so your lures don't get scratched by your treble hooks.....simple concept. Plus, the need to put holes in boxes so the hooks dry and not rust. Geez.

More money in his boat storage compartments than I have in my whole boat motor and trailer! How much are 30 rods worth?

+Jolly Giant How much of that does he really pay for and how much is given to him by sponsors?
@AdvancedAngler18 жыл бұрын
He trades his endorsement for his living. As a part of that, he needs to use the products so a lot of that gear is provided by his sponsors. But it comes with a lot of time and appearances that he has to make, it's not just "given" to him, he earns every bit of it. If he fishes 120 days a year, he works for his sponsors another 200.

wandering why he uses cranking batteries for his trolling motor when he's thinking of performance in his boat. And why he's not using (DEEP CELL) batteries.
@moonpiespotlight47597 жыл бұрын
Kevin said he had 4 cranking batteries then later said he used 4 deep cycle. These are opposite types of batteries. I'm sure KVD knows this, he just meant something different than he said. Also, I always felt like the pros don't really use the hydrowave or the color collector or that silly thing Dance hangs over his boat. Not saying they won't work, but KVD casts 50 yards out and he's not attracting fish to that spot. Not sure, but it just seems like something he's paid to use. He could catch fish with a mop handle and twine, probably win a tourney with it.
@bullet53515 жыл бұрын
they both work but you don't have to have them. the hydro wave works sometimes and at other times it can spook the fish, but i like mine i just need to know when to use what setting and how loud to make it?
