COPD is a complex and heterogeneous disease, associated with significant medical, economic, and societal burden, which is predicted to increase over the coming decades. COPD imposes significant impact beyond the lungs, including on quality of life, health status, daily activities, physical activity, and sleep, as well as comorbid anxiety and depression. Given the increasing recognition of, and importance attributed to, patients’ and caregivers’ views and preferences on disease management, it is important to identify and understand their perception of COPD and the individualized impact on their lives. This understanding can help guide clinical decision-making and improve outcomes for patients with COPD.
In this on-demand webcast the learner will go through a complete virtual patient tour starting at the time of symptoms of COPD through the burden of the disease, diagnosis, evaluation, and individualized, clinically supported, guideline-based management, drawing from the GOLD Report for COPD.
