Now the next revolution would be to release their own custom block builder for non coders, featuring repeater fields, relationship, flexible contents, custom loops - kind of blocks that are surprisingly still rare to see in 2023.

I might have to give ACF another look! Got an unlimited LTD thanks to you, Paul, after notifying us of a pricing hike that was coming a few years ago. Think I paid around 99AUS in a ½ price sale. Equivalent to around £50 at the time .... (Though many threats to that after a couple of changes of ownership).

There is a migration option inside the new ACF to import the CPT UI components. I would advice testing this first on a staging environment.

@Bjarne Oldrup I think such migration is happening on the DB level and if you test it out in a dev environment and it works, you can apply the same change to Live site. Tested the migration on my end and it is all working well.

It all looks good but the last 20%, Just need an easy way to make the custom field data show up on the front end with wordPress Gutenberg block support without having to purchase additional third-party stuff like Elementor Pro. If I have to apply elemental, pro or some other page plug-in to easily get at the back and data for the front end, then I'm not going to want to use the standard Gutenberg blocks to build my site which kind of defeats the purpose of helping to grow Gutenberg blocks. The other thing is lacking that I think most people will agree creating these type of directories some form of front end user entry form and a way to allow. The person posting to edit their own content. I first went down the ACF path, and then stumbled on the front end piece went down a bunch of rabbit trails, and found some workarounds, but it shouldn't have been that difficult just saying because I actually had to research work around that open me up to explain all the ACF competitors out there, which isn't really good for the ACF marketing department. If they're interested in long-term growth.

Thanks for this video Paul. I really wish I had purchased an ACF LTD license when available. My workflow typically needs the Gallery functionality that is a PRO only feature. Thanks again for this overview. ACF PRO looks great.

Now we need an Elementor Forms widget that works with this properly as the updates to both ACF and Frontend Admin have now stopped the widget populating as it used too. Really jacked up my workflow having to create the forms separately now. Plus layout and formatting needs work around.

I would like to know when you create your new post type, you click "add new", how can you have the "theme" setup instead of guttenberg ? I mean how can you add on the top of the screen a "page editor" button ? Thank you !!

Hey Paul, I would love to see a video from you on the pros/cons comparing ACF, MetaBox, and JetEngine. A few months ago I was tossing up between ACF Pro and Metabox Pro. I purchased Metabox Pro because of all the hype. However, I find that I just don't use it because I have JetEngine and I'm so familiar with it. JetEngine just does everything that I need, so far. It would be great to see a comparison of the features/benefits of these.

Im just going to ask this , I want to make a categorised carousel, if you click on a category the carousel below displays content related to the category in the form of a carousel. How to achieve this ? It doesn't seem complicated but so far I haven't found a plugin that comes close. Any suggestions? All is welcome

It is difficult to display custom fields created by ACF. To let custom fields created by JetEngine display on my site, do I need to access php file? I suppose JetEngine is easier than ACF

Yes, in the tools section, there's an import option which allows to select which CPTs you want to import and manage by ACF

I’m curious if Relationships has gotten a lot easier to implement in ACF. Metabox was much easier than ACF pre 6.0.

@@iainpoulson at the time I had both ACF and Metabox when I needed to configure Relationships. I was using ACF primarily and I found there was a Relationships UI in Metabox. Since then, I switched to Metabox for this reason (among others). So I cannot share any other pain points. Just do it as good or better than Metabox.

Yes, the Jet Engine plugin is better and has more features, it is a premium plugin, but ACF is good enough for people who can not afford Jet Engine The recent update makes it, even more exciting, 1 less plugin
