Building a website with ACF and Elementor Pro and you're going to come across many times where you'll need to search and/or filter the information on the site. This is where things can become confusing as there are many options and choosing the right one can be confusing.

Hmmm, interesting and timely. I’m moving from jetsmartfilters ( weird bugs and not enamoured by their new support policies ) to s&f pro. I think this tutorial is going to take a few rewatches to understand exactly what you did as it seems slightly different to your previous s&f pro videos. Great video! Another option (not the cheapest though) is to mix FacetWP with SearchWP. That also creates powerful search and filtering.

The section on Search & Filter needs updating, as they now have a purpose built additional extension for Elementor Pro, see here (you need to be logged in as a current Search & filter user to see the download button) searchandfilter.com/documentation/3rd-party/elementor/ They also now support Anywhere Elementor and Dynamic Content for Elementor. If you do not have Elementor Pro, they have a (free to anyone) post grid plugin that will also link to Search & Filter, see here: searchandfilter.com/documentation/search-results/custom-layouts/

Paul, another great tut as usual. Maybe I missed it but is there a tut for the export/import of custom post types and advanced custom fields? I'm at my wit's end trying to figure out why the featured image won't come when importing. Appreciate your inputs.

Paul. This is excellent, although as you’d seen in most ‘real estate’ ( including Airbnb) web sites, the users is always presented with a filter which is ‘built’ by ‘adding’ a series of choices ( one after the other) ie. First field ‘location’, second field ‘ beds’ , third field ‘ budget’ , etc and only then the user clicks the search button which combines all three options. This is usually the typical way filters are used in most web sites. Perhaps u could guide us a bit more on how to set this ‘3 to 4 ‘aggregate filter ‘ that once triggered it give us the expected result. I was unable to ‘unlock ‘ how to put it together in that fashion. If u can will be much appreciated. Many thanks. Kind regards. Martin

22:51 if you're pasting a link to your template for S&F Pro to use, and you're developing locally, that URL won't work once you upload to live site, correct? Is there a way to post a dynamic link that won't break?

Hey! have you ever used Search and Filter to search for more than one field. For example, the user can search for first or last name. Not just one at the time?

All these plugins work as filters on product archives. Do you know of any plugins that gives a similar thing but that can be put in the hero section of the homepage. I am looking for a series of dropdowns rather than a single search field. Ideally it would filter woocommerce attributes and then redirect from the homepage to a search results page

Jet Smart Filters : Despite the general compatibility, there are two fields that CAN’T be used for the data filtering - they are Checkbox, Date Picker, and Date Time Picker.

Hi Paul. Great Tutorial as always. Unfortunately it does not quite give me what I need. I am not looking for a search facility, but just a filter facility for my Elementor Pro based site using ACF I want to list in my posts, a custom field in numerical order when the page is opened. The choices in Elementor are of course, Date, Title, Menu Order, Last Modified, Comment Count and Random, a custom field option here would be magnificent to say the least. Breakdance does it, but not Elementors How do I add a custom field option to this list? Is there a way at all?

Take a look at GridBuilderWP, that is a great alternative and can easily just be used to handle the filtering and searching without using their built in card designs.

I would suggest looking at either FacetWP or Gridbuilder. They are generally easier to setup over S&F Pro, which is great, but a little less user friendly.

I have done the same process as you but for some reason my pages work when in the admin portal. When I get off the admin portal and try the filters search (press submit) it takes me to my site home page and not my search results page... weird. have any solutions?
