Advanced Disposal Curotto Can Garbage Truck: Autocar McNeilus Meridian

Advanced doesn’t run very many Meridians so this was a cool truck to film. Its also pretty interesting to see how it got progressively lighter while I was filming. There’s a few other trucks in here as well so see if you can spot those.

Love all the veolia carts. In My state of Wisconsin Veolia was everywhere. I wish Advanced never bought them out.

@trashmonster26 The local manager said it's for insurance. The insurance company forced them to take all steering wheels off the curb side on existing trucks, (with the exception of MSLs and a few RLs) and no right hand drive on new trucks. The merger makes this really messy, as WM ASLs can only pick up trash while driving curbside for there insurance, so alot of steering wheels are going to be going back on shortly. If you look at more ADS videos, they all are on the left. Seems more dangerous then safe, but insurance doesn't care.

It won't matter what the ins company says with WM....and it also has a lot to do with Advance Disposal having had a negative attitude about RHD. My buddy drove there and they made it almost impossible to drive from the right so it was easier for some of the guys to just run automated from the wrong side to make the company happy. Now that it's WM they'll be able to drive from the right with less hassle as long as they don't drive over 20 they can pretty much just run their routes.

...and as far as standing up to drive I've been running these kind of trucks for over ten years and I've never driven them standing up unless I'm running an area that's all hand trash and then I sit down again.
