Sure I ended up killing them but they managed to avoid the ult by flashing in place a split second before the ult hit them (it still went through him, I watched the replay of that moment like 10 times in slow motion to make sure.) You just never know what'll happen.

Great video. I never put it on circumstance. I think 80% is personality. You'll see some who just backstep every single time, even when they have a dash available. In a 3 option situation where you chase them horizontally, they often prefer one direction to sidestep, such as down, over the other, such as up. That's why it's good to test this during laning phase when you don't have kill potential, for when you do have kill potential (as thresh).

On top of not working in low elo, I've also noticed that ur opponents can also adapt to what ur doing so that u cant abuse the same trick over and over again. Eventually they will catch on to ur skillshot pattern or dodge pattern. For example, in lane i could keep dodging skillshots by sidestepping towards the river in mid, but if i keep doing that then eventually they will know to shoot their skillshot towards the river. The key is to change it up and be unpredictable (at least with dodging that is). With skillshots idk i guess u sorta just have to judge based on ur elo if u think they will even attempt to dodge or not because i dont play ranked so im stuck with most bronze and they rarely dodge.
@ziixu6 жыл бұрын
The best dodge is to press S that stops you from moving or any other action. It dodges those who aim straight and also those who aim behind you (trying to predict your backwards dodge).
@maplol20006 жыл бұрын
This mechanic is also aplicable to other champions. I use this trick when I play zed. If you want to hit your combo easier, you can put shadow in the same position as when he ward jumped, to minimize the dodge paths and hit both Q’s and trigger Electrocute. With zed you will have to stay closer and put your shadow next to the enemy champion, but the idea is the same.

Great explanatory video, Celly! But you could add some extras like many Thresh players will play "chess" with you (this can be applied to any skillshot champion). You throw an obvious Q to know how many steps they take while dodging and their reaction time and land the next Q by following their pattern. But if they know that, they can outplay you by just not following the pattern that they set earlier (I do that always since i'm a Lee/Thresh Main) So it turns out to be some sort of battle of the masterminds, lol.

at 3:00 that is just good game sense on darius' part in trying to put the minions between lee and himself, not so much the special ward hop you made, however the ward hop did help in allowing to hit the darius. So not necessarily proving your point, but just good game sense on both of your sides, meaning there was little darius could do in the end
@4pipesrlz8 жыл бұрын
When I dodge, I dodge in the near direction it's going. Usually when I can read the animation direction on something that winds up. If you have space to move in the direction the skill shot is going it will give you a tad bit more time and give you time to adjust and or space yourself from whomever shot at you.
@springbreeze29928 жыл бұрын
well guys, if you are having problem whether it will work on low elo players because they dont dodge, then just simply predict or advance your skill shot, and if you know and somehow encounter a player with good reflexes and can dodge your skill shot then this might work. Its actually up to you to know when or which player is good enough to try your strategy and to counter them, because not all player in low elo are bad, and not all players in high elo are good.
@mongol87368 жыл бұрын
holy shit this is pretty neat
@Ventus2778 жыл бұрын
This depends on elo tho. Only high elo players will go backwards or smart ones will actually just keep moving towards the tower predicting that the enemy will predit their move ( ye it sounds complicated). As i said , this only applies in high elo , in low elo and by this i mean below mid gold , there s no point in doing this

tip number 2- Each human is different but has patterns engraved into them. If you are a champion who has a skill shot, throw a few random skill shots at the opponent, many times they will have a direction they subconsciously prefer. If you throw a skillshot at them, and three out of three times they juke to the left, than chances are they will stick to said behavior.

You forgot to mention that well, the other option in which they can dodge is the direction they're already running towards.
@midir40008 жыл бұрын
In high elo, like the example he gave with aphromoo and the reasoning, the players dodge, because it is a proactive choice. Its ingrained into them. It is possible to juke a high elo player by not attempting to dodge whatsoever. It happens all the time. You hear the streamers say "Wow, he didn't even Try to dodge that. HAHA!?!" It is simultaneously a very high level juke, and the complete lack of a juke, at the same time, and is an outlier in player behavior. In the high elo brackets of play, the highest success chance prediction is the sidestep.

That's called the 90 degrees juke/predictions, at 90 degrees it's hard to fail, you gotta try to stay at 180 degrees constantly so you have 2 ways to juke as explained (with a bad example), the so called "side step", which isn't hard to perform either, if you're good at skill shots you'll be looking for 90º angles, if you're good at juking you'll be looking for 180º angles all the time, the situation changes drastically sometimes, some scenarios you can't juke without spending a flash or something, you can also read up some players, their juking sometimes follows some pattens, some players will juke more often to the right or left at 180º.

interesting, but I think you should mention the tricks with solid terrains blocking basically, if you position in a way the enemy is next to a certain solid obstacle he can't walk, he can't dodge it in that obstacle's way. Just aim the skillshot directly at him (or slightly to the opposite) and thats 100% skillshot landing hard to explain without a pic but yeah thats what i learn in aram lul
@astrogod_8 жыл бұрын
This doesn't work in low elo where players just walk in a straight line without attempting to dodge. In addition, what if higher elo players know that you know this "trick". Therefore they would just dodge in anticipation that you would just throw the skillshot in the direction of where they don't attempt to dodge. This is basically a mind game where you have to judge the other player. If they usually sidestep, you throw your skillshot to where they will sidestep. If they usually don't attempt to dodge, you throw your skillshot to where they will not attempt to dodge (usually in a straight line). And if they catch on that you're trying to land a skillshot where they will/will not dodge, it becomes a game of 50/50. Also, there's a condition of when a player just stands still. Without sidestepping and without walking in a straight line.
@ajuric46068 жыл бұрын
it is annoying when i play few games with friends, they are all mid-high elo (from gold 1 to dia 5), and then i play solo, i am in lower half gold and often i get silver and bronze players, then with skill shots i assume they would dodge, and when they don't all i can read in chat is that i am boosted and that i don't know how to play that champ, it is frustrating when you overestimate your opponent, and instead of him looking bad you are the one that is bad in the game
