You have demonstrated a very good understanding of the block editor. People bashing the block editor are mostly ignorant of how to even use it.

Amazing! Nice to see the same section being created in different ways. I just subscribed to you, keep making these kinds of videos :D. I really love that you're going out of your way into using a page builder and started to use the default gutenberg, and show how you can go around developering it yourself. Great job! I got asked to build this using Greenshift, and it was a great experience. Way quicker (who would have thought :P), but less fun of you'd like coding and adjusting gutenberg core.

Great presentation. So many ideas on what to do next. Great description of the thought process for each. Very well done!

Thank you for your video. It is so valuable. I did not watch the full video. Will watch it when I have the time. Please do more tutorials like this. It would be great if you could start from the beginning so that even a beginner like me can learn Gutenberg, I mean start a series like 101 Gutenberg and explain everything from the beginning like to Gutenberg layout, how to edit typography, colors. I subscribed you channel expecting more videos like this. I don't know whether you have videos on this topic earlier. But if you do more on Gutenberg, it will reach out to many. I am sure even experienced page builders will not know much about Gutenberg.

Even though Gutenberg is definitely not for me, I enjoyed this video. You clearly know what you're doing and you're pleasant to listen to.

Absolutely EPIC video, Danielle! 🙌 Subscribed and notifications turned ON! You did an awesome job explaining everything! Not sure if you're taking requests 😅 but I'm very interested in the block styles you set up in this video. I didn't even know that was possible. If you are looking to create more videos on this topic, I'd love to learn more about creating block styles, your workflow/process on that, etc.
@overnightwebsite10 ай бұрын
Thank you!! I'll always take requests. I can definitely continue to do some workflow/process videos using block styles, especially since there are a few different ways to use them. Maybe some other topics will pop up along the way.

as of watching the video, no idea how you duplicated the cards at 29:50 - also thinking about the issues I've had using cover, something about responsive imagery I think.. I loved learning how you navigate all the things.. and this video is proof that gutenberg is further away from being a complete page builder that I thought as of Jan '24. I think this shows the need for even more basic, step by step educating, and zooming in.. showing the key keyboard presses as letters on screen.. Maybe the future is videos like this showing how to make and customize patterns that are added to the worpdress site and also github for remixing / adding.. Still shocked there are so few patterns available there as of today.

Showing keypresses is a great idea, I will definitely make a note to turn that on at key points in my videos. I believe I mention it briefly in the video the keyboard shortcut to duplicate, and if you click the 3 dots next to something, there's the option to duplicate within that menu that lists the keyboard shortcut for your operating system there as well.

3:05 .. this where Wp / block editor fails... Any novice would tell you that page builders tend to be less overwhelming than WordPress which aims to be simple but fails at it... As a novice i can tell you we much rather not have to deal with page builders... The jumping back and forth between the work we're doing and then having to go in the customizer and being stuck is the main problem
@BK-qx3qf6 ай бұрын
But you missed a point. Its not that its impossible to build in native gutenberg, its that its just waaaay harder than in bricks. I think that was his point. And he is right about that. Personally, both sucks, and I am way faster coding it myself. But you didnt rebut his point.
@overnightwebsite6 ай бұрын
Easier in Bricks for some, sure. I'm not sure what point you're referring to, but my intention was to demonstrate the process with core WordPress to show it can be done pretty much just as easily with some basic key fundamentals. If you can build great sites that are easy to update by coding it yourself, that's a perfectly fine solution.
@BK-qx3qf6 ай бұрын
@@overnightwebsite Intro to your video you are calling "certain someone" out for bashing gutenberg and praising Bricks. I am just saying that his point wasn't that its impossible to build in Gutenberg, it was that its just super hard, and that noone should be doing it that way. That is what you missed to rebut, you just said in short "that guy is bashing, let me show you how to do it".
@overnightwebsite6 ай бұрын
@@BK-qx3qf Right. That it's not super hard, I did it in the same amount of time as he did. The entire video is the rebuttal.
