Advanced SimRacing ASR4 Video Footage

This is a quick video of some fly-bys and some headcam footage driving an Advanced SimRacing ASR4. ASR was kind enough to help me out with a new, upgraded triple-monitor sim rig. Don't forget to read the assembly and review on MotoIQ.com!

hi nice rig . I am coming from a playseat f1 , I play mostly f1 game but my seat is killing my lower back. In your seating position in your asr4 do you drive formula game also and how is the immersion ?

I'm not sure it would work for a formula position very well. It might. The stand is very tall. It could be hard to get the seat low enough for good pedal position for formula-style use. But I really can't say. I don't drive formula cars often and I use this seating position when I do. Maybe ask ASR for photos of a formula seating position?

Great video and awesome article on MotoIQ. From what it looks like, that rig could definitely handle some strong DD FFB. Have you noticed any flex in the wheel deck or at the mountings points at the base?

No, it's basically rock solid. I did have a problem with the pedal assembly moving but that was my own error regarding tightening the tray.

Does the wheel deck have angle adjustment? I’m thinking about buying an ASR3, and also have a CSL Elite wheelbase. Worried the wheel will be angled too high upwards without adjustment

Yes, you can rotate the wheel deck as well as adjust the height. The plates that attach the deck to the stand are slotted and allow for some rotation.

@@erikmjacobs awesome thanks for the response. What are your thoughts on the pedal plate?

@@dlugsch the pedal plate is super heavy duty. You really have to be careful with getting the bolts tight enough or it tends to slip. I've had to adjust it a few times to get it right. Because it's so heavy it's hard to do by yourself. You need to take the front plate off to easily access the hardware securing the pedal plate, so it's a little bit of a pain. Definitely not the end of the world, and extremely sturdy.

Come on fix that monitor placement. People spending so much money on sim gear but can't setup it correctly.

Your side monitor should be at 60deg and you need to find a FOV calculator to find the right distance for the middle monitor from your point of view.

@@Renagade9966 the FOV calculators don't tell you how to find the right distance. They use the distance to tell you the side monitor angle and resulting FOV. I'll agree with you on the "should" have side monitors at 60deg. I tried it and hated it. It didn't feel any better, and felt less natural. I might try it again, but I went back to 40deg after hating 60.
