Ready to level up your spearfishing ability with some more advanced spearfishing techniques? These techniques are specifically designed for Open Water Hunting, and drastically change the way we hunt.
If you're looking to target those larger fish or pelagic species you're going to need some more advanced gear, such as longer barrelled inverted roller spearguns, thicker shafts, stronger more purpose built floats and floatlines, and knowledge of some more advanced strategies and techniques.
In this tutorial we're going to teach you all about the gear you're going to require, techniques including drift diving, using flashers to attract the fish, hunting pelagic species from bait balls, and finally what to do once you land a shot.
Landing a shot on one of these game fish.. is nothing like hunting those smaller coastal fish. You're going to have to fight in the water for periods up to an hour long.
Alright, now you're an expert. That's episode 13, and the end of Part 1 of Master The Hunt, our new educational series that will teach you everything you need to know from How to Snorkel, Advanced Freediving and Breath-hold techniques, all the way up to Advanced Spearfishing Tactics and Sustainable and Ethical Fishing guides. Stay tuned for Part 2! Sneak preview for anyone who's read this far down into the description, it's all about what to do with your catch. Think beach fires and celebrity chefs ;) Coming soon.
Good luck in the water, have fun and stay safe!
