Thanks for opening contents & showcasing. Really appreciated it. It was expensive bag compared to others on Amazon. I ordered one. Every school America should have these. I don’t know how to use but I know there are many people out there that know how. There are military, police, fire, ems, doctors & rn’s that know how to use. I’m a truck driver I carry on my truck. I need to get some training on this soon.

I bought one of these from the everlit store on Amazon. Everything was as advertised except the tourniquet. It didn't have any cat markings as shown in the Amazon picture. It looks the same other than the markings. They might order in bulk without markings. I replaced mine just to be safe. Great pack.

Little advice? try to minimize the loss on the plastic-bags! You never know when you need a "little plastic" to keep the bandages aso from getting wet (raining, on a boat, ...). Q - why is the "first aid patch" in the states the swiss flag, and not actually the red cross on white ground (old for both medic and pharmaoclogy, new: for medic/doctor-packages) or the green cross (new for pharmacology and/or first aid)? EDIT: first time i heard of the israeli bandage; gonna retrofit that to my cars first aid kit tomorrow, that thing makes things so easy!?
@FittoSurvive

Great advice as well! In the trauma kit thts I put together I tried to keep most of the items that could damaged in small ziploc bags. I am not sure why they designed the first aid patch that way. 😅 Usually the "cross" is red with some other color in the background. The Israeli bandages are actually super handy. They don't take up a lot of space but are a real life saver when treating a serious bleed. The advantage of it over a tourniquet is that it does not cut off blood supply and it can be applied anywhere on the body - head, torso, limbs, etc.

Question: that special chest-cover-thing (that sticky one): what is the name for that? and what is a good (trustworthy) brand for it (if you can name one, the name of that thing'd do it - had to renew my cars bandage-kit, i'll restock the old one with actual usefull things now)

While this kit is very impressive, I'd do a few changes/additions if you gonna use it outside a shooting-range: 1. replace the scissors with the leatherman raptor. sry, even victorinox can't produce something better than that. 2. replace the nasopharyngeal airway with a mouth-to-mouth protection-mask (not sure how to translate that to english: the thing you put the patient over nose and mouth before giving mouth to mouth); the instant you'd need an airway, first-aid isn't just enough to help the patient (gonna need more stuff then) 3. add some tools on it; medical-grade tweezers, one small, one medium (to remove dirt from wounds aso), one of these modified SAK with replaceable scalpel, (there's a talented guy on YT doing these mods ;) , not to do surgery, but to cut bandaids aso -> one cut with the scalpel is faster than scissors, and with the SAK you can prepare additional ad-hoc-splinters (cutting some branches aso) 4. add medical tape, some normal non-sticky pads (to be cut in size) and some medium-sized zip-loc-bags for multipurpose use. EDIT: and please add some desinfectant for hands, AND one for wounds. there are small flexible cases available 5. for the manufacturer: make a deal with the redcross and put a voucher for a GOOD first aid class on that thing, too. those already passed the course can gift it to someone else... comes in handy more often than one thinks! (since we CDL-drivers in europe have to do mandatory classes, one thing i do all 5 years: a first aid class. it's no certificated class, but still: we get so much usefull informations, including on how to operate the defibrilator (there are some automatic ones on almost every corner around here)...)

Yes definitely. That was my exact same thoughts, this kit is a decent start, but it needs some things to be added in order to be complete. Thanks for the advice on different additions! Bunch of great ideas.

Not a bad trauma kit, but overpriced. There is about $60.00 worth of medical supplies in that bag. the CAT is about $30.00 retail. The chest seals about $12 - $15 per pair, the Israeli pressure dressing is about $5.00. Just saying know what you are buying.
@FittoSurvive
@FittoSurvive 2 жыл бұрын
👍🏻 It would definitely be interesting to count up the total cost of everything in the kit.
@donhames5492
@donhames5492 2 жыл бұрын
@@FittoSurvive The reason I know these costs is that I build and sell custom first aid kits and custom survival kits, so I keep track of costs. I've used some of Everlit's chest seals and Israeli bandages in my kits and they have been well received by my customers. The costs I mentioned are the costs to a consumer and do not reflect any discount received from buying from wholesalers, so their actual costs are lower. Compared to many kits out there, this is a good kit in the sense that the items are good quality and there isn't a lot of unnecessary items. First aid and trauma kits sold online usually advertise based on how many "items" are included in the kit, and if you don't look into the amounts of each item, the kits with the most items seem to be best. But when you look into the amount of items you see the item count for some cheap items such as cotton swabs and small/junior bandages is inflated. Some kits have as many as 50 cotton swabs and the a similar amount of the small junior bandages. These items are not really useful, at least not in the amounts in the kits, and are there only to increase the kit item count and the price or to make it seems like you are getting a better deal. As with everything you buy, if you are not sure of what you are buying, take some time to compare kits to make sure you are getting what you need and want. I work with people to build kits to their requirements and try to educate them along the way so they are informed buyers. My company motto is :Quality. Value. Service. If I do the first 2 right, I don't have to worry about the last one. I hope this helps your viewers to be able to make better purchases.

@@donhames5492 Thank you for explaining that in more detail. I have actually never purchased a pre-made first aid or trauma kit for the exact reason that you mentioned. They boast the quantity of the items but in reality there is not hardly anything that you will actually need. 👍🏻👍🏻

Yes they do, even if it isn't minor HAVE stuff for minor injuries, one compartment with chest seals, packing gauze, trauma bandages etc. Then have a small part with bandaids, alcohol wipes, some neosporn etc. BE PREPARED don't think "oh I won't need that" then you end up needing it and require medical attention because you didn't take things for you for minor injuries. If you think it needs it add it whether you think it's dumb or not. Rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
