Advanced Warehouse Purchase Order Receiving With the New Warehouse Mobile App

One of the first videos I ever created was advanced warehouse purchase order receiving. That video has been around a while and we have a new warehouse mobile app so I thought that it was about time that I created a new video to show you how advanced purchase order receiving works in 2021 with the new warehouse mobile app.
In this video I will mainly focus on advanced warehouse purchase order receiving with the new warehouse mobile app, but we will take a look at the setup when doing advanced warehouse purchase order receiving in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

We register the receipt qty on the handheld, but then have to go to a pc to post the registered qty. Can you post from the handheld device?

Great post! In this example, you picked two items and grouped them on to an LP. Then when putting away, you put away each item one at a time to a location. Is the typical business practice to putaway the LP itself to save the individual puts? Thanks

It really depends on the warehouse. Many warehouses receive to their pick locations first then put to a bulk storage if the items won't all fit. Some go to a bulk storage then use replenishment to replenish the picking locations. It's all really based on how the picking locations are to be filled.

Hi - is there a way to configure the mobile device to view the items on a purchase order in a list view vs scanning each item? Our item numbers are different to our suppliers so having this functionality would be very helpful.

I'm interest too. Having to enter item numbers is ridiculous. Half the time customer item numbers won't be on the manifest

What happened with the purchase order status? has it been changed?

Good video, but am I missing something? This is probably one of the worst mobile receiving workflows I've seen. Do the developers realize that customer item numbers are often not on a manifest? Many times the PO number is not even present. 1. There's no list of expected PO's to choose from, so I have to find the Po number on the incoming paperwork (I could easily select from list if I know it;s delivery from vendor A on date X) 2. The user has to either enter the PO line no or item No (out item numbers do not match the vendor's so they are not on manifest) Basically, there's NO WAY I can receive a delivery on a PO without a copy of the PO to hand IMHO the workflow should be: 1. Select PO to receive from list of expected PO's (default to today). If it does not show I can choose other date ranges or search by PONo or vendor 2. Show list of PO lines 3. Choose which line to receive (default qty should be PO qty)

Is the new app already general available? How can I download?

I think so I don't see anything that says it's in preview. I would wait until you get on .17 as it has a feature in feature management that turns on the new icons. It is new so I would test it fairly well.

It actually officially became Generally available today. Along with the announcement they have announced that they are deprecating the old app. It will be deprecated in 12 months (April 2022) docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/get-started/removed-deprecated-features-scm-updates#dynamics-365-for-finance-and-operations---warehousing-the-warehouse-app
