I want to ask two things: a) By doing the stretch you are hyperextending your low back by using the arms as assistance. Isnt that considered bad? b) This back extension is by no definition a stretch. Both exercises are (in essence) the same movement, with the first one putting less load on the muscles. Why is the first one called a stretch and the second isnt? Which ties into the second point: if anything, the action of back extension stretches out the rectus abdominis muscle But why would anyone stretch those
