@jenetikitty3 жыл бұрын
Completely seriously: your nose lets you know about new smells. If you're around a smell for a while, you get used to it. And having pets, any kind of pets, comes with some smells. Like, not even bad smells. Dogs have a doggy scent to them. I love burying my nose in my cat's back and smelling his soft kitty smell. (He likes cuddles!) So you can just... not realize that the pet smell has gotten a note of urine to it. Or that it's been getting worse. As for pets not being house trained.... well, maybe. But that's not the only possibility. I had a buddy who was taking care of his very old dog who still had a generally good quality of life (Happy, excited to play, eating well, etc) except for having very little ability to hold his urine for very long. Friend tried to get the pup out as regularly as possible, but accidents happened, and he just accepted that when the dog finally passed on, he'd have to replace the rugs, and did his best to clean it up in the mean time, but there's only so much you can do without professional equipment, y'know? Especially at that size. One of my cats, on the other hand, stress pees. If she feels anxious for any reason, or insecure, she'll pee somewhere, usually in a place that smells strongly of her humans. She doesn't have an infection (we checked!) just, if something upsets her little world, she wants the reassurance that everything is okay. We can't really fix this. We can't control the stray cat who likes to come by the window and look in. We can't control the neighbor's dogs. We can't control that thunderstorm, or the tornado sirens, and the lawn has to be mowed a few times a year to prevent snakes under the stairs. We do what we can to give her comfort when stuff happens, but, y'know. she can't say "please love me"-- all she understands is to try and establish that she's still here and that we're hers. We try our best to clean things up, but there's a point where we just... accept that the choice is get rid of her or deal with it, and y'know what? I'm not gonna be that guy who gets rid of a pet because they're inconvenient.

To be Fare not many people have time to take big rugs like this and clean them by hand. Vacuums can only do so much for a rug.

When you got an old dog with a weak bladder a rug can get nasty really fast.
@Mia-bigbooty3 жыл бұрын
my 10 yr old dog got a case of some nasty diarrhea that lasted maybe.. 2? weeks. and in that time period only he absolutely demolished our living room rug we just threw it out two days ago! shit happens man. it sucks. the house smelled like shit no matter how much we scrubbed the water rinsed beige every time and there’s only so much you can do. no shame in it. and its better than needing to throw the whole thing!

i CANNOT imagine the smell. once its wet again, its gotta be BAD! my cat has taken to going in the dogs house and peeing on her blankets. if thats closed up she goes in the bathroom and pees on the bathmat. i can get those in the washer. i use vinegar to kill the smell. works like a charm.

Honestly think that first rug might have needed two trips through the process to ensure that the urine is fully rinsed out. Just look at how dark the liquid is that came out of the spin dryer. If it's coming out that dark, means there's still urine residue on the fibers. It should rinse and spin out much closer to clear, otherwise you're just leaving urine in it.

You do realise they didn’t clean the whole thing in the five minutes you watched right? Having the whole process in a KZbin video would make no sense for them nor the viewers

Crazy to think that people could be so neglectful to their rugs and still care enough to get them cleaned. I shudder to think how bad the rugs are that belong to the people who don't even bother.

I wonder how much this process costs in comparison to the rug itself. Maybe we give the dog this rug and buy a new one
@kashashk3 жыл бұрын
The cost is probably good enough to merit the service, that or the rug itself is expensive or something sentimental that replacement isn't the better option.
