Advancing Research with Open Science and Collaborative Communities
Abstract:
Scientific progress thrives on collaboration, openness, and shared knowledge. In this talk, we’ll explore how communities of practice, like rOpenSci, empower researchers and students to drive innovation in their fields. We'll discuss what defines a community of practice, how these communities foster skill development, mentorship, and collaboration, and their pivotal role in the open science movement. Attendees will gain insights into the opportunities these communities offer, including how to join, contribute, and grow as part of a global network of scientists and developers. Whether you're new to open science or looking to deepen your engagement, this session will provide practical steps to become an active participant in the open science movement.
