A little less talk, a little more do. Jocko always dropping things we can apply to our lives!

Notice that Joko said to prioritize and not multitask. Martin Luther King Jr said " I may not be able to do great things but I can do small things in a great way. If we can take care of the small things the big things sort of work themselves out.

Jocko! You are the first Navy seal I have ever been around or listen to talk in my life that I could relate to. Many years ago I was living on the beach in South Carolina and I took on two roommates who said that they were deep programming themselves after a career as Navy SEALs. They were impossible to have a conversation with, unfriendly, intense, violent and more than anything we’re just impossible to like. Only a couple of years ago I met a couple more Navy SEALs from a different generation and they too had no personality and we’re completely seemingly emotionally destroyed. I just wanted to pay you a complement since I produce media for a living, that you are the only Navy seal I have ever been around in my life that I could actually relate to. Thank you so much for surviving it all and remaining a relatable guy.

Jocko, I owe you, my quality control lady complimented me , she said i was great to deal with because i was the only one who takes ownership of their mistakes. She said everyone blew up and fought with her. Thanks for the advice.

Same goes for running a machine. You can tell someone how to / what to but its all learned by DOING. Loading the part, pressing the controls, watching the machines actions.

Last thought; thank you for consideration. This topic really put the hook in me. Here it is: Some information can only be transmitted with talk. At the highest level of performance, everything, absolutely all things become an abstraction. Feel me? Once you master the hands on side of anything, if you're going to push your capability further there's nothing to do but think of new applications & configurations; all of which will obviously, necessarily be hypothetical. So, at the end of the day the talker, the thinker will always be king. Like anything else in life, though, there will always be down to Earth guys and complete turds whose books you can't judge by their covers. No one gets a pass. Not even one's self, you know? 🎁

Actually alot of fire I ended before they got to far gone. Just at the right place at the right time. Empty an apartment one night cars in garage was on fire attach to the apartment. Fire I don't play with its just a tool that must be governed.

I hate how every bit you do tells me I would've been a great soldier if not for getting help for childhood depression (looots of physical, sexual, and psych abuse) and that being on my record- Then Again, if I'd hit navy and read the fitzgerald report afterwards. Buddy. No respect for poor authority putting a whole fleet at risk, especially not something that stinks of systemic breakdown on top of the potential for the Xicoms slacking their GPS. So, yeah, silver lining, still sucks- moving on.

Surprised Jocko would title the video this way...the myth of 'learning styles' from the 80s/90s has been vigorously debunked. Yes of course: "demonstration + explanation + practice on your own + test" is better than just "explanation". But that is not because someone is a 'kinesthetic learner'. It is because repetition is what can move a task, action, skill, mathematical operation, etc. transition from something you need to use more of your brain for (e.g. a car repair you have never done before but are attempting with an instructional video) to something you do on 'autopilot' or less focus (e.g. driving, walking, typing, etc.). This is why the military, fire departments, EMT schools, etc. spend a lot of time doing the same thing over and over with variables/changing input.
