Thanks for being willing to tackle the tough question, "If God is so good, why is there so much suffering and evil in this world."
@AdventistOrgChurch Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your appreciation, Karen. Indeed, the question of suffering and evil in the world is a challenging one. We believe that all suffering and evil are the result of sin, and God, in His infinite love and wisdom, is working out a plan to restore the world back to His original program. As stated in Deuteronomy 29:29, "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us." (NKJV). We may not understand everything now, but we trust in God's goodness and His promises. Is there any other challenging question or topic you'd like us to explore, Karen?

Job 34:10: It is unthinkable for the true God to act wickedly, for the Almighty to do wrong!” God NEVER brings about the evil and suffering we see in the world. First John 5:19 clearly tells us: “We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” As ruler of this wicked world, Satan the Devil is the main cause of all of our suffering. Very soon God will eliminate all of our suffering forever. (Revelation 21:3,4) Only good people will live in peace on earth forever. (Psalm 37:9-11,29)

It is wonderful to have such an in depth presentation of our fundamental beliefs. Great to revisit them again to confirm why we believe what we believe in, and to highlight afresh the pillars and waymarks of our faith and practice. Thank you so much 🙏

It is always necessary and beneficial to pray before spiritual discussions and Bible study. Holy Spirit discernment is needed by both presenters and viewers/listerners, and should be invited. We should not just trust scholarship and our own abilities. (Consider Proverbs 3:5)
@AdventistOrgChurch Жыл бұрын
Well said! Relying on prayer and Holy Spirit discernment aligns with the wisdom shared in Proverbs 3:5. As we navigate spiritual discussions, how can we encourage a deeper reliance on the Holy Spirit and foster a community committed to seeking divine guidance in our studies and conversations? We can be your friend who's willing to listen and pray for you. If you have any spiritual or emotional concerns, please feel free to chat with us at m.me/TheAdventistChurch. God bless you.

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in a discussion regarding the teachings of the Adventist community. Since you are addressing not just Adventists, it might be helpful to frame the subject using a universal framework. I suggest that you explain these teachings by showing how they speak to the universal purpose of religion. What, then, is the principle purpose of religion in humanity's life & history? Thanks.

Indeed God character is under attack and so is His law which reflects his character.
@AdventistOrgChurch Жыл бұрын
Your comment is insightful, Andrea. Indeed, the Great Controversy between Christ and Satan is centered around the character of God and His law. As Adventists, we believe that God's law is a reflection of His love and character, and it's our guide in living a life pleasing to Him. It's crucial for us to uphold God's law and character in our lives, especially in these challenging times. How do you personally strive to reflect God's character in your daily life, Andrea?

If I had a glass of pure water and I also had a dropper of poison and I added one drop of poison to the pure glass of water…would it be fit to drink?
@AdventistOrgChurch Жыл бұрын
Certainly, your question raises an important point about purity. In the analogy, even one drop of poison can potentially compromise the purity of the water. How do you see this concept reflecting in our spiritual lives or moral decisions? We can be your friend who's willing to listen and pray for you. The names 'Jesus Christ' are NOT pagan. Jesus used many names to identify and describe who He was, His title, and what was His mission. Another name for Jesus can also be Joshua, Yeshua. The name Christ is used in the Greek to mean, 'the anointed one', none of which are pagan. Pls stop promoting confusion or fanaticism since all names used in the Bible in reference to Jesus are descriptive in nature telling who or what is the son of God...amen!
@catholic4sure976 Жыл бұрын
I guess, some people think that Christ doesn't understand English. This is Phariseeism at it's best and a remnant of the "Sacred name" heresy from the 1970's.

I pray the rapture is soon. Jesus save me. I will never stop praying. Lord please change my life for the better. Thank you Jesus for never leaving my side, because everyone else has! Jesus! I PRAISE you! Even as I’m struggling providing for my children. I feel like a failure but I will keep faith because faith is all I have left! Since covid I can’t seem to get back on my feet. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I declined due to my health conditions. I suffer from lupus, and heart disease. I’m now waitressing and so thankful to be working but I’m not making nearly enough to get by. I have two beautiful boys both are autistic. I’m overwhelmed because they require so much from me. Every month is a struggle to not end up on the streets with my boys. I’m struggling buying groceries I’m so discouraged. Jesus hear my cries I’m so tired. But I have faith! Jesus hear my prayers. ❤

Hi, ChildofGOD. Our hearts go out to you as we read your heartfelt prayer. We want you to know that you are not alone in this journey. God sees your struggles, hears your cries, and He will never leave your side. We admire your strong faith and commitment to prayer even in the midst of challenges. It is a testament to your strength and resilience. Let us join together in prayer: Heavenly Father, We lift up ChildofGod to You, Lord, we ask that You provide comfort and reassurance in his faith. Strengthen him as he faces the difficulties of providing for his children and managing his health conditions. Jesus, You are the source of hope and refuge. We pray for a miraculous transformation in ChildofGod's life. Guide his steps, open doors of opportunity, and provide the resources they need to meet his financial obligations and care for their family. Ease his burden, Lord, and surround him with Your love and support. We specifically lift up the health challenges ChildofGod faces, including lupus and heart disease. We ask for Your healing touch upon his body. Grant him physical strength and resilience to navigate each day with grace and courage. May God's love and grace shine upon you, ChildofGod, as you continue to trust in Him. Please know that He is your refuge and strength, and through Him, all things are possible. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Start giving thanks for your blessings. I keep seeing your dilemma wherever I watch. Pls do start with Thanksgiving & Praise if you are legitimate. God knows/sees, and God Cares about all our needs. The "arm of flesh" is only able to do so much, BUT GOD can move mountains thro' faith (that you mentioned). Most of us have difficulties. I'm glad you are working. Tackle one problem at a time. But seek God FIRST, & He promises your needs will be met (Matthew 6:33).

“Immanuel” mentioned at Matthew 1:23 is one of the prophetic title-names by which Messiah would be identified. There is no evidence showing that Jesus was ever called by this name! Jesus: In Greek “Iesous,” which corresponds to the Hebrew “Yeshua or Yehoshua” and means “Jehovah Is Salvation.”
