does it matter what characters you pick it gives you the option so im not sure

It matters for the story but not for the puzzles.

It matters for the story somewhat. The conversations you have will be different, Sam’s behavior will change depending on the characters you pick, the secrets you discover will be different, and even the ending can change slightly or drastically depending on who you choose The puzzles are all the same tho
