Adventure Ocean Quest - Episode 4: The White Sharks of Guadalupe | Ocean Documentary
Watch 'Adventure Ocean Quest - Episode 5' here: • Adventure Ocean Quest:...
The White Sharks of Guadalupe: Up to 7 metres of muscle and teeth, packed into an agile and streamlined body that can weigh in at 2250kg - this is the great white shark, one of the most infamous hunters on Earth. But the reality is that these sharks may disappear from our oceans altogether within the next 20 years. Their terrifying reputation is part myth, part reality, rooted in their instinct to hunt and kill whatever looks like a good prey animal … and that can include human beings. But how far is their killer-reputation justified? Are great white sharks really the blood-thirsty loners we imagine them to be?

One of the most perfect of nature's creations. Absolutely gorgeous & terrifying predator that needs our help to continue to exist. Without all species of sharks all oceans & seas would become stinking cesspools of death & disease. No longer the source of all life on our planet the oceans all life on our planet will die. The life on land depends on the good health of our oceans & seas. Without the work of our irreplaceable sharks our oceans & seas will literally die. This is an excellent documentary everyone who cares about our planet should watch. Thank you for sharing this with us.

What a great series of documentaries! Compared to the Ocean Vet series which is also interesting, yet a more dramatized approach of storytelling, these docs here are much more calmer and feel more "in depth" and upclose and personal. My wife and I really enjoyed these shark docs. Thank you for giving them a new playlist!

Please don’t ever - it kills them. So many sharks get terribly injured and even die from encounters with these cages. They get lured to the area around the cage, try to examine it and what’s in them(NOT TO EAT WHATS IN THE CAGE!) - and since they can’t reverse, some tend to get stuck in or between the bars. Probably even more dangerous to the people too than go diving with an experienced dive master and spotter

This was a good one! A not overly dramatic narration like this is such nice change from the hysterical, fear-mongering presentation of Discovery, NatGeo (RIP) and it's ilk! I also hate their ridiculous pseudo-experiments that are clearly just for the sake of hype or to get aggressive shark footage and not for any scientific gain.

I've probably watched all these shark documentaries at least twice, if not more times! I really cannot get enough of learning about sharks, watching them swim or hunt, how they interact with other sharks, how they react to these free divers.... The list goes on lol. I cannot wait until my husband and I get to book our trip to Guadalupe, I already know I'm gonna be addicted to it immediately!! We really need to be a lot more aware of our actions and the consequences they have.... Shark hunting needs to be aggressively punished, these are living creatures, they feel pain like we do. Shark fin soup needs to just not be a thing anymore. It used to be a big deal like twenty/twenty five years ago, now it's served most often at weddings. We need to save the sharks, in order to save our oceans, in order to save our planet!!!

Orcas are the Apex predators because nothing in the ocean eats them. They kill Great white sharks just for their liver how they talked about how big it was how useful it was to them the orcas can smell that. They have intense hearing smelling and visual. When they hunt as a pack nothing can be done to them. They are called the wolves of the ocean.

A great documentary. The efforts of films like this go along way in helping to establish new laws of conservation. These awesome creatures must be respected and treasured for future generations. Perhaps gps units should be placed on fishing nets so they can be retrieved when they cut loose. Sharks even the great white are not the apex predator of the ocean that title belongs to the killer whale; they hunt down and easily kill great whites.

I love how the first sentence the narrator says "This is the biggest predator in the ocean".....sorry bud, but the Orca (killer whale) has the Great White beat by a long-shot.

Jochen Burkart sperm whales get bigger, however orcas do hunt them as they’re more of a predator.

Its really interesting how the sharks do not attack free divers , the same in Hawaii I saw videos of free divers swimming with a massive female , that blew my mind completely , then you see fisherman shell fish divers in Australia who are using tanks regularly eaten

They attack free divers as much as anyone else, meaning not very often. A free diver was killed spearfishing at Guadalupe Island in the 1970s. (The shark was swimming below and turned sideways to eyeball him, just like the diver in this video said). One free diver named Robert Pamperin was eaten whole off San Diego before that.

They definitely deserve our protection….I am not sure they are misunderstood as living in Australia I see first hand how many people are bitten and they are definitely exploratory bites but some mature whites have continued to eat the whole person which tells me our meat is acceptable to their diet.
