I've built my bike box in an extended clam style so that it folds into a tent for a comfy sleep at the transition area

Suggest putting axles back into bike after removing wheels to avoid risk of losing them.

Nice idea but there are 2 problems with this: 1) it's entirely too logical and therefore escapes me 2) it would leave the pedals quite lonely on their own in the cardboard box. That would be hectic.

Hey @ARonAR what glue do you use for the corflute?

I use carpet tape rather than glue. Super effective. Double sided stuff.

Good idea, thank you! Seems like a lot of stuff says it may not be suitable, but people seem to have success with them. Quite odd. Might give that a go though! Also, how did you make the creases in corflute when the creases are parallel to the corrogations (can't think of the right word)? I tried and it with the blunt side of a butter knife and I managed to puncture the surface once or twice accidentally.

@@jamienash5263 I use a steel straight edge / long ruler, then score the inside edge of the crease. You can even cut it all the way, really, and when bending the crease, the inside edge will bend in. What you *don't* want to do is score or cut the outside crease, because it weakens the join much more, pls creates a sharp edge. Make sure to use the steel straight edge against the crease when doing the bending. Test making the bends on some spare pieces of corflute first. You will definitely have offcuts from the sheets.

How tight are adventure races with the dimenions generally? My box is about 31 wide and 82cm tall 😅 and I'm wondering if I would need to reduce it?

@@jamienash5263 It depends more on airlines than on races. I can't see an RD rejecting your box for being that slightly out of spec, but airlines - who knows? 31cm ain't much, and 82cm probably won't be picked up..... 🤔
