Adventure Racing with an Acquired Brain Injury

Northland based mother of three, Veronique Theberge, acquired a brain injury due to encephalitis five years ago. Juggling a busy household and local advocacy work, Veronique has become a passionate advocate for those living with acquired brain injuries (ABI). She is currently training for a six hour adventure race, with the aim of raising funds for the Northland Brain Injury Association.

Sounds a lot MS, though I know it’s not the same. My mom has MS and I grew up with having to help out and her constant extreme fatigue, cognitive issues, and mobility issues. However, it has made me a stronger person and more understanding of other people. What a courageous woman and a lovely family. 💜💜
