Taking a look at seven of the 12" 1970's G.I. Joe Adventure Team Action Figures in my collection. Somewhat of a 'show and tell' episode really.
I'm covering a little bit about the action figures, how I got them, and a bit of trivia thrown in for good measure.
Thanks for watching!
0:00 Introduction
1:21 LAND ADVENTURER
2:21 SEA ADVENTURER
3:19 TALKING COMMANDER
5:19 AIR ADVENTURER
6:09 EAGLE EYES ACTION MAN - UK
7:24 MIKE POWER ATOMIC MAN

My favorite toy as a kid. Very durable. You could not destroy GI Joe.

My neighbor friend destroyed his Joes with numerous shots with a .22 rifle back in the 60's! I had 2 Joes, and still have them (and many more bought recently) that are in great condition still. I am buying the Joes I wanted as a child.

That's awesome that most of these you had as a kid and still have them, I have several but all bought as an adult collector the ones I had as a kid been long gone LOL, the adventure team were the most attractive and vibrant of all the gijoe toy line in my opinion. Great video keep them coming

I got my first Joe in 68 or 69, a talking soldier, but destroyed them in my early teens, but started collecting them again in the late1980s, after walking into a Doll shop in Chicago and seeing an old friendly face. I have a fairly large Collection now, From all eras I guess around 300 or so, with lots of vehicles, I think I have 15 of the 5 star jeeps, but still lots of things I don't have! But I'm still looking!

I'm a A.R.A.H. JOE fan and I realized a few months ago that the blonde, the brunet, the brown haired cat and the ginger where the inspiration for Clutch, Breaker, Rock 'n Roll, and Snow Job on the JOE team. If feel that Hasbro is missing a golden opportunity to introduce kids to G.I. JOE via the Adventure Team. Unfortunately, for Hasbro part of the reason as to why the JOE movies fail is because JOE fans either want to see a version of what Larry Hama wrote or what we watched on t.v. as kids. If Hasbro used Adventure Team in movies and cartoons it what free the creative staff of making anything resembling A.R.A.H.

I have nearly all of the GI Joes that you have, plus a few foreign Action Man figures and the Adventure Team Headquarters play set. I've had the Air Adventurer GI Joe since the early 1970's. Somehow this one survived. I bought all the others on Ebay.

That is funny that you said u went on to Six Million Dollar Man and your buddy had Atomic Boy, that’s the same situation my best friend and I were in. I think I got my Six Million Dollar Man for a birthday and then I was pretty interested in getting more accessories for him rather than My GI Joe Adventure team stuff....although we still played w all of them together.

I have one figure, it’s a guy that started off at a 1966 sea sled diver and I bought it as just a neck post, shoulders, thighs, and chest, i restrung it and bought a head for it, the head I bought didn’t fit and was a 1964 pinhead which I figured out after buying, my dad bought me a fuzz head that has a few bald spots but it’s not too bad, then I found a land adventurer uniform in my collection on a reproduction deep sea diver, I sewn the tab back on, then I got the holster from a lot I had before I got the figure itself, it had a broken tab and a cracked belt area, well I cut off the belt and now there’s a shoulder holster that’s one of a kind, I have a knockoff pistol I painted up and made it look good and stuck that in and made one lower leg out of clay, I also put a dark green hat on him along with a belt with medical pouch from 1964 but now to buy more parts

Awesome Collection! Myself I didn't really have a lot of GI Joes growing up in the 70s because I don't know my mother didn't think about ever buying any for me. But I am making up for it all that time that I didn't have any in the last several years I have acquired primarily of GI Joe Adventure team only and it's been a blast so far..

I feel they've missed a lot by not having special edition 12" Joes and sets. The smaller 3 3/4" Joes get a lot of marketing, which is fine, but Hasbro is missing out on opportunities. Hasbro is a HUGE company, so they have different goals in their production line, like movies being made that tie into the 3 3/4" characters. There are younger collectors of the 12" figures as well that I've spoken to, so age shouldn't be a huge demographic determination, there is plenty of disposable income in the collector market for 1:6 scale Joe products.
