Great recap, but one tiny correction, and only because it's interesting. The book Shermy/Simon reads isn't written by Simon, because Shermy and Beth world isn't an alternate dimension, it's future Ooo. That book is written by the little girl who was obsessed with Fionna and Cake. At the end during the montage you see the book characters, Casper and Nova, as doodles in her book. She wrote their story based on Simon inspiring her with his own story. Simon is reading an allegory which is literally based on him and Betty.

Omg thank you for pointing that out because I interpreted that scene completely wrong! I thought the girl was taking notes as Simon told the story of what happened. Like, I thought he was straight up telling her “yeah and then I possessed this little dudes body and there was this weird book”. I don’t know how I thought that made sense.

@@Lily8Numbers Beth says she can't read the author's name, and I think Shermy/Simon assumes it's that world's Simon who wrote it because he had his own book call Ancient Artefacts. The actual name on the book is indecipherable, as it's in some weird glyphs.

it seems you got some details about GOLBetty wrong as it wasn't The Lich who opened that red portal, it was GOLBetty all of GOLBetty's actions in Fionna and Cake, is a result of Betty's wish to the crown to protect Simon at all cost, and that includes not turning him into the Ice King

I feel like Adventure time never gonna end and i love it. I honestly love "Adventure time "and "Fionna and Cake" because i remember my dad loving this show too and heck i still have a stuffed toy in by chest/Box! When the show will end i will cry so hard like with every kids cartoons like Amphibia, the owl house and ect. (Note: This not be related to Adventure time: Fionna and cake but i recomend checking out Hilda, it's an underated show and i def recomend it if u like adventure time)

I watched the show with my dad, who had never seen Adventure Time, but he still loved it, and I think that’s a great sign of the shows quality. I just gave him the info he needed as we went. Also watched the show over a weekend on a discord, and now we’re going threw Adventure Time- just watched Escape From The Citadel last week ^-^

I wantched this as an almost complete newcomer to the Adventure Time franchise and I really enjoyed it! There are bits of lore I've picked up online over the years (Marcelene and Bubblegum, most the stuff with the Ice King) and the series did a great job of explaining what needed to be known. Were there some background easter eggs I missed, almost certainly, but I think you'd be doing yourself a disserivce by skipping it becasue you think you need to watch 13 years worth of content first

Tiny correction: Shermy and Beth aren't from a different dimension, they're from Simon's original dimension, canon Ooo, just 1000 years further into the future and it's hinted at that the one who wrote that little choose-your-own-adventure book wasn't Simon, but the little girl who kept bothering him about his Fionna and Cake stories The entire time Simon merely assumed that he was in a different dimension once again and that the book must've been written by another alternate self of his, because that's exactly the kind of thing he kept going through this whole time, but we know from the Adventure Time finale that Shermy and Beth are from Future Ooo and during the montage at the end of Fionna and Cake we see the little girl coming up with Casper and Nova, drawing them in her little notebook while she's listening to Simon's tales, hinting that she's the one who eventually creates that game/book It is.. a LOT of lore to keep track of with this franchise X'D

12:41 ok this one I can try to explain and make sense of. basically every universe prismo creates is done so through a wish, except for fionna and cake's world. this means that, inherently, within the core of their world is an unfulfilled wish. and of course, it takes the form of a dandelion, which is said to grant wishes. so essentially simon handed fionna the unused wish that seems inherent to it being a world created by prismo, which she then used to wish for her world to be canonized. I don't know why simon just coughed it up, but it would be fair to assume golbetty had something to do with it. also, shermy and beth aren't from another dimension, they're from the same dimension as mainworld ooo, but they're just 1000 years in the future. simon assumes it's another reality because he doesn't recognize ooo. in the end of f&c we see him drawing casper and nova, implying that he was the one to write the book that he would eventually play while possessing shermy.
