(Getting maintenanced probably.)😂 Seriously though, I always loved the Dungeon Train episode. The thought of fighting through these cars forever, gaining more and more loot until you become a boss yourself and get killed by another hapless adventurer is pretty terrifying. Also, nice to see you starting the Finn's arm theory the same way we all did.

I love how many mysteries and loose ends around Princess Bubblegum & "The Ghost Lady" were finally solved! The writing really jumped in quality in season 5 and onwards. They really go in on a solid continuity and timescale throughout the rest of the series. (P.s. If you remember, Princess Bubblegum references Mr.Creampuff and their relationship all the way back in episode 1 where she and Finn were digging through the candy cemetery!)

if yall are still wondering abt the sudden change in tone during these last couple of seasons, its because the creator of the show, Pendleton Ward, stepped down as the showrunner and was replaced by Adam Muto. Pen was getting tired of running an insanely popular show and he trusted Adam enough to continue his vision. While Pen wanted a more casual quirky show Adam wanted more avant garde modes of storytelling without sacrificing the casual feel.

IMO, it's the best showrunner-to-showrunner transition in TV history. I legitimately can't think of another situation where a showrunner passed the reins to another person who picked up right where he left off and then made the show even *better*. It probably helps that Pen stepping down was voluntary, and he stayed involved in the show for the rest of its run. But man, huge credit to Adam Muto for his exceptional work running Adventure Time, all the way through today.

What I love abt these eps is how we can see and explore Finn's growth throughout them. I especially love s5ep36 in that regard. Dungeon train sorta reminds me of the earlier seasons of the show, in a way that it is a lot of unrelated adventures which offer quickly rewards and seemingly don't affect 1 another. Finn has matured a lot since s1-2, but now he's living through stress, so he tries to hide in repeating heroic actions again. And we know that that was the original reason he put his life on that track. Because he couldn't actually handle questions. Questions like "where r the other humans? What happened to Finn himself? Who is he?". And while it seemed like in early seasons Finn tried to escape those questions, they still returned to him, because the events of s1-2 happened in reality. The train is an unhealthy alternative to that, devoid of any meaning or development.

Holy shit, I just realized that the Dungeon Train episode foreshadows some big character stuff in the last Adventure Time special (before Fiona & Cake). I won't say anything more specific, but if you know, you know. And I mean it's not like that stuff I'm alluding to wasn't to be expected anyway, but I just now put together how Dungeon Train mirrors it very directly. Disclaimer to the sorta stupid crew: sorry if I've already recommended this, but the anime is so good that I have to make sure that I've recommended it I reckon you guys should watch the anime "To your eternity" the anime explores what it means to be human and connecting with people, there's also awesome fight scenes and great character growth. And the anime finished its 2nd season and is due for a 3rd (just a little something to look forward to if you watch both on camera and off)
