As a former employee 97 - 98 seasons this brings back many memories. I worked in all the catering outlets in the knights valley, but Percy's was my home and has given me great memories up to this day. I met my wife outside that store just after closing time and we are still happily married to this day and beyond. Thank you for doing this.

Thank you so much for this. I live 2 minutes away and grew up coming to this park every week. Teary-eyed from the memories we had a season pass for just £50 a year in 2004/5 an offer to us locals to keep it going that bit longer. Camelot meant the world to us. The rack was my first proper ride at 8 years old. I remember one year me and my cousin rode Excalibur 500 times in one year and once 27 times in one day just because we could 😊

Top memories. I went when a was about 8 and got forced to look after some random lad the same age from another school who was ridiculously shy. 20 years later I was best man at his wedding.

I worked there in 87, 88, 89. Brings back lots of memories of the place. It was a good laugh, more so when Granada took over - some of the previous managers were a bit dictatorial - and I can tell you some stories. The bit that's still there was called Squire Squirrel's Indoor Adventure Land or something like that when I worked there. I got bollocked for telling Timmy Mallet that he had to take his shoes off to get on the bouncy castle. I think he did the official opening and they wanted a photo of him on the inflatable. I also remember the Dragon Flyer running over a bird of prey that wouldn't come back to the arena during a show, although that might be an urban myth. Before it was Camelot, it was Arena North and 'It's A Knockout' TV show filmed an episode there. I also went to cub/scout camps in the top field in the late 70s/early 80s before Camelot was built.

Its so sad to see it no longer being there, how it decayed overtime - makes you think of the mortality of everything in our lives. At least the memories are forever. I find it really sad to see it now. It’s a special place to me as it’s the location of my first ever memory when I was only 3 - my dad “encouraging” me to go on the dragon flyer ride 😂 I’m not sure if I was big enough anyway. My parents would take my siblings and I here in the early 00s. I remember watching Sooty live. Always thought this place had a totally different feel from other theme parks in the UK, in a good way of course. Thoroughly enjoyed this video, even if it did make me a bit emotional.

You have Brought Back some memories once again with this one. Working on the Knightmare Construction that was dumped on site by the supplier of the Waggon Wheel - (Big Wheel Central Pier Blackpool). I decommissioned the site on behalf of Prime Resorts ready for storey Homes Development it never started I Remember when I Killed all the electrical supplies there was a security company with Eastern Europeans as guards. Strangely that same night waggons pulled up and loaded about £60,000.00 of reclaimed cable and it was never seen again. nor the guards.

I went here for an end of year school trip in 1991. It was packed back then. I remember the tower of terror roller coaster

The removal of the tower of terror to be replaced by the gauntlet always signified the beginning of the end of Camelot for me. The gauntlet was a disaster of a roller coaster in comparison, extremely uncomfortable to ride, and the fact that one of the workers was electrocuted and died whilst trying to fix the gauntlet shortly after its opening shouldve been taken as an omen. Could never understand why they took down tower or terror, or that dark ride The Venom, and even that interactive roller blading rink in the late 90s. RIP camelot

Me and my family would go there every single year. It was a staple in the community and every time me and all my cuzans would come home with a brand new plastic swords and shields to fight each other in the back garden. It lowkey broke my heart when this place closed down. Thanks for the video.

Goin to the American Adventure seemed a long way (as i grew up i think i drove further to work)! But Camelot seemed a LIFETIME to drive to when i was a kid. In reality 2.5 hours, but it seemed ages and huge and real. Thanks mum for taking me, even though my brother got a tshirt and i didnt :P

I remember going to camalot as a child. We went all the way up to its close. We use to spend a couple of days there every October half term. I was devastated when my mum said it had closed down. I'll never forget the memories and fun times I had there.

Another great video . Love the overlays and comparison shots you do it really makes the videos. We have a picture of Me, my late father in law and my daughter on the caterpillar ride in our fridge, she got the theme park bug at Camelot. Such a shame it’s gone, it was our local park 20 mins away and would have been perfect for my 3 year old granddaughter to visit. Shame the hotel has closed my son stayed there for a mates birthday weekend . As for 6 year you in 89 it was 21 year old me not going to the theme park but the Park night club in the hotel. They were amazing nights at the birth of the dance scene and acid house, fantastic nights there. There are some grainy videos on KZbin taken in the Park 🤩🤩. Good to see many rides live on and some even stayed quite local . Great video thanks for another brilliant blast from the past 🥹🥹🧱👍🏽

The now and then (inc) the rides was fascinating. It all clearly brought a lot of pleasure to a lot of people, something which could be argued is in short supply right now. The 6 year old you, was fortunate enough to visit, at just the right age, it may even have shaped you a little bit, with memories, especially of that Dragon Ride.( You did focus on that, and there is no harm in that). Your production value is sky high, especially the walkthrough narration. No celeb could pull that off, their fake persona would have killed it. Very well done, and very well done to you too!👍

I went here about 2 or 3 times from the back end of the 90’s to early 2000 on trips with school and play groups, was pretty cool. The excalibur swinging shipping was crazy, super scary ha, by far the most exciting thing they had. It’s so sad watching this video and seeing all are memories being faded away. I am 36 now and I really miss being a young kid

I haven't thought about this place in years. I went here a few times as a child and it really makes me sad to think that my favourite ride, 'The Dragon Flyer' was just scrapped. Interesting to learn that it was diesel powered though, I always thought as a kid, the noise was added to make it sound like the dragon was roaring! It all added to the fun. I almost cried though when I saw the state of the old Sooty theatre. A very bitter-sweet video, thank you for the walk down memory lane.

Amazing nostalgia - I had hazy memories from my many visits as a kid and this has brought a lot of it back to like. In its pomp Camelot was amazing! I remember that remaining standing building that's now used for the Halloween maze, used to have a indoor roller skating challenge / game in the later years (after the soft play)

I'm lucky to have gone there as a young kid just before it started to decline. The live jousting was brilliant. It was surreal going back a couple of years ago and exploring it when it's abandoned. The castle entrance and second-hand roller coaster from japan was still there when I went.

I last went here in 2011, it was during the school holidays and I’d taken a lad I worked with and his 2 sons, it surprised me how quiet it was, I never thought it was permanently close the following year. It made me feel not emotional watching this but with great sadness because it was such a unique place - granted it felt dated, but felt nostalgic. Maybe that was part of its downfall. Either way it was brilliant to see what was left, and thank you for filming this :)

It would be great if you could do a film around Liverpools International Garden Festival of 1984. I went there many times. It was left to rot. It was such a shame as it was so beautiful and would have made an ongoing major tourist attraction. Brilliant Camelot video by the way. I took my son here many times he was about 9. Makes me feel very sad.

Like how much details you give with your vids, with the map and location of where your are and what was there with your picture fades brilliant. I was laughing when you showed the first water shoot ride, I took my kids there in 2005, 1 was really scared to go on the water shoot ride so me and the wife blagged him by saying we would be behind them, as they went down we walked out the que ha ha and ran down to meet them. Ive have some good memories there when I was a kid and so did my lads.

Honestly Camelot holds so many happy memories for me as a child, I would often go with my dad and I just remember being amazed every time with the atmosphere and scenery. It's like you said, they just couldn't keep up with the likes of Thorpe Park and Alton Towers. It's such a shame it couldn't survive, swapping shoes with my older sister because she had taller soles on her trainers so I would be tall enough to ride Excalibur will always be a fond memory!
