What’s funny about the Mega Man joke he made is that there’s a MM game on DOS computers and the Robot Masters actually DO look like that. Also there’s a fan project that’s giving us a 3rd season of Sonic.

Wish they at least did some sort of comic book limited series as a substitute for SatAM Season 3. But I guess Archie Sonic was a bit of a clusterfuck behind-the-scenes?

10:48 I remember when I watched this Nostalgia Critic review as a teenager, the sound of the dryer kinda freaked me out, it kinda sounded like a bomber plane or something. Only rewatching this now as an adult, I realise it’s because electrical appliances use a different AC frequency in the US, namely 60 Hertz, as opposed to the 50 Hertz used here in Australia.

Oddly enough; Doug goes on about Robotnik TRYING to take over the world, when ironically, there was another Sonic cartoon airing the same time which was just Sonic the Hedgehog (or SatAM for those in the fandom, since it aired on Saturday mornings); and in that one, he was already in control of the whole planet and was an overlord ruling with an iron fist. Funniest thing about that incarnation of Robotnik? The cold, heartless evil dictator who would gladly make a paperweight out of his nephew, was voiced by Jim Cummings...Winnie the goddamn Pooh. So yeah, that was a thing.

Back when Doug did commentaries, he mentioned in the one for this review that he actually liked both shows. He talked about how the Nostalgia Critic at this time was meant to hate everything despite what Doug actually thinks. There's another cartoon called "Sonic Underground" that Urkel also voiced. The theme song was cool

That’s an interesting piece of history. So that’s what was going on in his older approach/videos. Because even if it was genuine thoughts at the time, I did respect his opinions. Or still thought some were funny. A lot of the time back then he rant rages over a lot of things making some things out to be worse then what they were for humor sake.
