Emigration Clearance for temporary visitors means: A tourist visiting the Philippines would not only have to pay for to visit (as visas have to be paid), but also have to pay before he leaves back for his home country. That is basically ripping of money of (especially uninformed) tourists off their money. As a standard tourist you would inform yourself about necessary entry/stay visa, but you not be prepared to for a special process, which you have to apply for, in order to get back to your home country. And if you fail in that application process, you might fall into a visa violation and thus even find yourself in jail or at least heavily fined. Whereas you can decide to avoid visiting the Philippines when the visa is too expensive, you can not avoid to pay unknowingly high fees for getting back home. Thus the Philippine state can make leaving the country very expensive, as they know you have to pay it anyways. Not very tourist friendly!!!!!!! It will for sure harm tourism there. But I go further: I considered retirement in the Philippines. But a country, that obviously tries rip off tourists, would sure find ways to rip off residents. I can not trust such a country and will therefore for sure NOT retire in the Philippines - there are numerous other countries that offer better conditions and are more trustworthy in the long run. The Philippines is, to my knowledge, the only country in the world that would collect additional fees on departure!!! This law will harm the country.

I think it's enough to just check the passport of tourist visa holder the number of months he should stay on a foreign country and if no lapses on date, just approve the her passport in returning to his/her country w/o requiring him to report to immigration prior to his return

How will the new rules affect us retired foreigners who are staying and renewing for three years and then making a Visa Run, and then returning for three more years at a time? Do we still have the multiple three year options?

I have a question for you no disrespect to you or the Philippines why does the Philippines has a tough immegration laws when the Philippines rely on tourism and the thing is lots older forginers are now moving to other countries because for foreigners the immigration laws are less stressful and cost of living is cheaper one time ago the Philippines used to attract millions and millions of tourists and sure they still do now but not as much because other countries cost of living is not si high and immegration laws are less stressful another question if I come there how long can I live on tourist visa I love the Philippines and it's people but it should not be stressful if an coming to live there

Hello. That is a great question. Every country has its own immigration laws that needs to be enforced to protect the citizens and its border. If you are coming as a tourist, the length of your stay depends on what country you are coming from or your nationality based on Executive Order No. 408.

What about foreign nationals that are married to Filipinas who have dual nationality? What has happened with the Balikbayan travel rules for those foreign nationals described above? The only visa I could relate to in your description of the new proposed visas was visa A2, but that does not quite fit right.

Great info but might I suggest a format change to a Pecha Kucha. A Pecha Kucha presentation is a format that uses 20 slides or images that are displayed for 20 seconds each. The slides will move automatically as the presenter is speaking. This format ensures that the speaker is concise, keeps the presentation moving, and gets through all of their content.

What about Immigrant visas? I will be applying for a 13a after my return on the 29th of May. We couldn’t apply when I was there a month ago (departed 28 March), because PSA never issued our Marriage Certificate before departure. I will be arriving on 9A visa, but immediately applying for my Spouse visa when I return.

May I kindly ask? I was born in the Philippines on Clark AFB, 1970. My mother is full Filipino and my father was a USA soldier. I was born there and at age 3 they brought me to the USA. I have lived in Germany and in the USA. I am now in my 50's .. I would like to come to the Philippines and work as a Dental Hygienist/ Functional Nutritional Practitioner. I would like to apply for my citizenship .. I have all of my original Birth Certificates. However, I contacted the Philippine Consulate here in the USA and they state that I am not able to be a citizen because I was born in 1970 and my mother as a woman cannot pass her heritage to me. It makes me terribly sad.. I mean after all I am her flesh and blood and she carried me for 10 months, and I am born on the island... but I am not a Filipino because my father was a soldier??? Do you know if this is changed with this new law? Can you help me.. what are my options.. thank you kindly.. salamut po.

I believe: Don't give up, Salamut! Don't let anyone tell you that "There's no way!". There's always a way. Work on it, do research, contact an attorney (ask the Filipina Pea, she knows a good attorney in the PH). For the record, what you're saying is true, you were born in the Philippines, you deserve to have PH citizenship. And no, it's not fair. But sitting there crying about isn't the answer. Get up and do something about it! There is ALWAYS a way.

Happening the same time as the collapse of East Asia, no? Don't feel singled out if you're a Westerner. It's not just Westerners fleeing their countries, it's East Asians too. If there are aren't stricter controls in place there will be a flood of money coming into the Philippines that will skew the economy. Look at what's happened in Thailand already. The locals are priced out of real estate. Their middle class is dwindling, living pay check to pay check. The PH economy needs time to adjust to new incomes or it will suffer like Thailand is. It's gotten so bad in Thailand that they are in population in decline because children are unaffordable.

The Philippines needs to make getting a visa easier not harder! If all the foreigners stop going to the Philippines the countries economy would fall a part! And the amount of money that is sent to the Philippines from family members that live in the U.S. alone is what keeps the Philippines afloat. I think that the Philippines government is forgetting that.

@ALIBEK1161 I was talking about all foreigners not just Americans! Also I was married to a filipina for over 20 years and lived in the Philippines and the states. Back in the 1990's Cebu had a dirt road to the airport and you could sit at a picnic table next to the airplane while people were getting on. Tourism what made the new big airports in the Philippines not domestic tourism which is also a lot of foreigners in that mix too. Also back in the 1990's when the U.S. bases closed up the Philippines went through had time trying to recover. If I remember the big malls are owner by Chinese investors like SM Mall and about the only fast food was Joabees and Shakey's pizza all the rest that came to Philippines are foreign investors.Then there are money remitance companies started up for all the money being sent the Philippines from all over the world not just the U.S.
@Rory235
@Rory235 5 ай бұрын
Also if no foreigner come to the Philippines they would no longer need the international airports and the duty free shops also more than half of the hotels and motels. Companies run because of foreign tourist would close up. Then the foreign investors would start pulling out there money spent on business in the Philippines. NO matter how you look at it the Philippines needs foreigners to keep the improvement that has happened in the Philippines in the last 30 years. The Philippines so changed from the 1990's I am not arrogant just fact.

Foreigners did not built Philippine economy, its us the locales born and raised IN THE PHILIPPINES. One reason why foreigners living here in the Philippines is in their own country of origins are having economic problems in their own country. They know their money's worth goes further here to purchase basic goods and services compare to their own country.

So after all this goes through and passes, you can still stay for 3 years on a tourist visa and then make a run to another country for 24 hours and come back and restart another 3 years or no? It’s best to just get your visa online before going to the Philippines and if u are from a western country like me USA 🇺🇸 u get 90 days.Yes it’s iffy if you go to get a visa or an extension in person at the office.This is why I’ll get my visa online.The other benefit of getting your visa online instead of in person is that it saves you pages of your passport from being free of stamps.You can also get extensions for visa online as well not just for the Philippines but also for Thailand.Going in person is pointless at this point because you run into too many problems and depending on the immigration office or and immigration officer you may get an extra 30 or 60 days you don’t know.So I would advise everyone to get your visa and or extension of visa online instead of going to immigration office.Because very soon they won’t stamping people passports anymore at immigration offices.

So what about the foreign Spouse of a Filipino citizen? Do we even need a Visa? Are there still countries where a Visa is not required for entrance?

Mostly I will be coming to the Philippines for pleasure, but what visa do I need upon arrival or prior to arrival if I have a friend in the Philippines make small items to be exported to the USA and what are the conditions of this visa? This is a small hobby project although items could be sold in the USA and value would be less than 50,000 pesos. Thanks in advance for your reply.

and about the RSSV visa? Can I come to the Philippines with my filipina? Are there still income requirements (800 USD a month?) Money in the bank account (I think that was an amount of at least 25,000 PHP)?

I agree the current Immigration infrastructure is as archaic as buying a boat ride out of Boracay island where different windows are required to achieve the same goal, something that will never exist in the West. I digress, what faith awaits the balikbayan privilege? Under what terms does it fall in the immigration visa policy of the bill being proposed?

Nothing said about srrv type of visa through the PRA . Does this fall under a completely different category from the typical visitor visa.

Hi, I am living in the UK with my wife who is a philippine national, we would like to come and live in the philippines when i have sold my house next year. My wife has her own house in the philippines, can you advise what is the easiest way. Incidently i have just arrived in the philippines with my wife for a holiday, at the airport they stamped a one year visa entry. In my passport it says spouse of philippine national.

My wife is dual citizen Filipina. What type visa would I require and how long could I stay coming from the US? Would it still be issued on arrival?

Great Video! So as a foreigner to open up a business in the Philippines, one would need to apply for a A1 Visa?
