Wow Silas, crushing cars just made my work week completed!! Every classic vehicle you save for your yard couldn’t be a better way to say, thank you! Your yard is coming together nicely also!!

There went the front fenders that I could have bought for my 89 Grand Marquis . Me and my girlfriend went on an adventure over the weekend. We went down to Cooters Place down in Luray, Virginia. It was hot but we visited Cooters museum (Dukes of Hazzard). We didn't stay for the birthday bash/car show because of the hot temperatures. We did tour a Civil War museum while we were there.

The number of old vehicles you save is fantastic. Too many scrappers wouldn’t care about our automotive and transportation history

Man that red and white 70s Chevy van looks pretty solid! It would make an awesome "70s boogie machine!"!!! 😁 Believe it or not..... Folks out here are clamoring to find those old shorty Vans like that and turning them into 70 style customs.

Thank you, Silas. I never knew all the ins and outs of "car metal dealing". The way you save the "clips" of very old cars so people can make bar decorations, man cave stuff, etc. You work long days and you work very hard. Thank you for sharing your world. I would love to visit your place, but, you are a little to far from New Jersey........

It's so good to see you making so many trucks and cars that are collectible available to be be restored. This weekend in Evansville,Indiana the Frog Follies is taking place. Hundreds of old model cars and truck are shown by their owners at the county fairgrounds and so many look like they could have come from your yard except these are all restored hot rods. All of them are beautifully restored and run nicely. How I wish I had the money to buy several of your cars and turn them into one of those beautiful roadsters.

Smart move crushing the cars while the price is low - using your time wisely into making what I'd call a "crush bank" - something that will be worth more in the future that will allow you to harvest quickly and to turn a profit. Crush 'em while it is low and store 'em until you can turn that profit! Great move!

That was a great way to end my day. I love these videos.These kinds of adventures would be fun.. Going through a junkyard.. The only thing I'd hate is coming across a car with a nest of bees or hornets in it.. That's what was in the trunk of a 1950 Ford (I forgot the type but it was a 2 door) I remember when my dad sold it, they popped the trunk to look in it and out came the swarm.. Like the other time that my dad brought home an old farm truck.. he got it in the yard and opened the drivers side door and I guess there was a nest in there because he was attacked then too.. But my grandmother used to go hunting for treasures at a garbage dump.. I have memories of one in my home town.. I remember seeing piles of old rusty stoves,washing machines,driers piled up everywhere.. and there was a steep hill going down and it was covered in scrap metal and such too.. Now it's illegal to do that.. but when I get a chance to dig through the recycling bin, I build up a stash of returnables... but apparently you can't do that either.. but it's full of liquor bottles and in Vermont, they're worth $.15 each.. and pretty much all cans that are VT are $.5 each... which is better than Florida... they give $.5 a LB... so I had to crush hundreds upon hundreds of cans just to make $25.. Up here, I used to collect tons of cans/bottles and made $80-$85 when I was lucky..

My favorite time to go to the junkyards is after a hard freeze when the wasps are too cold to come after a guy. Winter in CO can come with mild days, good time to be out there
@mharris5047 Жыл бұрын
It is very interesting to go through junkyards where the owner lets the cars sit and slowly sells the parts rather than scrapping them. We have two in my area that are like that and if you seen trustworthy they will let you actually walk the junkyard.
@NewEnglandOtaku Жыл бұрын
@@mharris5047 I never did, but there was one in the town I used to live in, it was a huge junk yard.. it had a ton of cars piled up.. I don't know what happened to it but it was closed down. Another one I remember was also in the town of Arcadia Florida and it was behind a auto repair shop and the cars out back were junk cars.. They made the mistake of not draining the gas out of the tank and I guess the heat built up or something cause the entire pile of cars went up in flames.. I'm sure someone threw a lit cigarette or something sparked..
@NewEnglandOtaku Жыл бұрын
@@patdesrosiers6423 I've been lucky, I only found yellow jacket nests in the ground.. I had a junk car parked in the woods.. I always threw junk in it.. Well it was supposed to be something for my dad to use but I destroyed it so it was junked in the woods.. it has been there for over 20 years now.. it was an old Volkswagen Rabbit.. I went through our property picking up stuff that wasn't supposed to be there and tossed it into the car.. I broke the windows and smashed everything.. because I was a kid.. and I pretty much enjoyed destroying stuff. Needless to say, it's frozen up now, it is damn near impossible to move without it digging into the ground since the wheels are seized up

To advice, keep in mind what you crush because anything that’s from early 80’s and back have value. If you see something that’s just too far gone than do crush it. If not, keep it so you can get some money and at least option in lot because old car dealers say they sell classics and they don’t….a customer can restore it if they want since it’s becoming a hobby….glad you have inventory for those that look for classics. Great video 👍
