Just got back from Grand Teton/Yellowstone and your videos was super helpful! A few big things I would add about Delta Lake are 1.) Get to the trail before 7 AM. The parking lot for the Lupine Meadows trailhead was packed by 8 AM. 2.) Be prepped for the elevation gain. That plus the last mile were some of the hardest aspects of the hike. 3.) Maybe avoid any strenuous hikes the day before Delta Lake. You will feel it the next day. A shorter and moderate hike like Taggart will help get you used to the elevation, Again. Thank you for your videos and tips.

Hi Joe and Gemma, here. We just subscribed to your channel, and we are really enjoying your series, especially the v blog's about the national parks in Utah. Living in the moments with y'all, while also helping us plan our Utah trip on Sept. 8th. 2022. Btw we are Floridians and since we like to drive, we visited The Great Smoky Mountains National Park numerous times and have encountered black bears up and personal. Shot great pics of momma bear with their cubs specially in October when they are fatting up and getting ready for hibernation. We also carry that same bear spray, but we found that for it to be effective the bear has to be ten feet or so from you and in a panic if your aim isn't good then you might have a problem. We saw one time a ranger from the park, scare away a bear from a super long distance with a small air horn can that you can buy at a Walmart or at any sporting goods store. And that is what I carry now along with the bear spray plus a 20lb. backpack full of camera gear, tripod strapped to the bottom of it and a clipped-on camera ready to shoot, LOL. My wife is the smart one, she carries a slinged water bottle and a small point and shoot camera. Again, we can really relate to y all's videos and thanks for inspiring us to visit and explore out west, can't wait.

So last year we went and for some reason we thought that the delta lake entrance was through the amphitheater & surprise lake area. Which is AT THE TOP!! By the time we hiked back down and took the right trail off the switchback. We finally got to the part where you had to go straight up to get over into delta lake and our legs were soooo weak!! We couldn’t do it. Such a let down. We are going back the last two weeks in June. We are going to make it this time. The amphitheater and surprise lakes were beautiful though!

Hopefully this hasn't been asked and answered too many times. Where did you start from to pass Amphitheater Lake?
@AdventuresofAplusK3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Are you asking about the trailhead we started at? We started at Lupine Meadows and then split off before Amphitheater Lake. We followed the route on AllTrails

Two people have gone missing so far near or on this trail in the last couple years. Never hike in this area alone. Carry bear mace. Stay very aware.

I don't think I've seen a video where you talk about how you make money, so this might not apply. But check out the RV Lifestyle channel for a video they have on their Yellowstone guide. Another channel called Lifestyle Overland talked about making guides too. The first channel is geared more towards an older fan base and the second is geared more towards off road types. But I'd pay for a guide to sort of follow what you two are doing. Where did you stay (gps coordinates), what did you do in the area, what hikes did you take, where did you fill up on supplies, etc. The Lifestyle Overland channel even did a series on a road trip up through Colorado. Joining their patreon even gives you access to the gps of their campsites and for a higher tier you can get the gps trail of everywhere they go. Just a thought if you are brainstorming ideas.

Thank you Bill! And we covered it a bit on our van tour, but I have a full time corporate job that’s 100% remote and Adam has his own web design business. We produce a ton of free guides right now on our website and will have some for the Tetons and Yellowstone very soon! We will be putting info about where we parked on there for any van or RV folks as well!

It’s smart to have a healthy fear of grizzly bears! Bear spray always makes me feel better! Enjoy you guys!

We have yet to see one thankfully, but really glad we have this bear spray to keep us safe!

Buffalo and bison are just two names for the same animal, either is correct.
@AdventuresofAplusK5 жыл бұрын
It was a bit confusing when we googled it, since apparently outside of the US a Buffalo is not what we typically think of when we think of buffalo here. 🤔

keep the bears in mind but don't let it ruin your hike. bring your bear spray and a pistol (just in case)

funny that i've lived in canada for my whole life and have never even seen a moose in real life yet almost like the animals are trying to prove that canada is not made of moose and hockey (but honestly i love hockey)
@AdventuresofAplusK4 жыл бұрын
Hahahah we know that feeling! We have actually seen more bald eagles in Canada than in the US, even though it’s our national bird.

In the last 30 years there have been 6 non-fatal bear attacks in the Tetons. I'd be more scared of the moose.

Are you allowed to carry a gun with you while hiking?
@AdventuresofAplusK4 жыл бұрын
I believe if you legally own a firearm you can have them in certain areas of the park.
