Piroshki Piroshki is super good, best piroshkis I have had where at a tiny coffee shop on oak street by pan handle park and divisadero and beef and cheese is also my favorite. I lived in capitol hill seattle for 4 years. I left seattle in 2007. Did you all ever go to post alley? great food there as well. haha, finished watching the video and you guys did go to post alley

I am from the caribbean and worked on a cruise ship for some time. During the Alaska season I would look forward to a Saturday to buy all the fruits I only saw on TV, strawberries, blue berries, cherris and black berries, lol all the berries. That would be my breakfast. Love Seattle and Pike Market. Miss Seattle and Pike Market.

My wife and I love your videos and got to go to Pike Place today! I just got stationed up here so i have a few years filled with more pike place trips. That beechers mac n cheese was so good! 10 out of 10 would highly recommend. Oh and those donuts were amazing as well. Cant wait to go back

Love the video and LOVE Pike's Place! You mentioned eating GF, have you ever tried the Cinnamon Works bakery that is just south of Beecher's Cheese? Think you were standing in front of or next to it when you were talking about the mac n'cheese actually. My mom turned me on to that little bakery and I've fallen in LOVE with their peanut butter cookies! And when I say cookie, ummm, it's the size of your head and as thick as a book. Their cinnamon rolls are fabulous too! YUMMY. Great video though and makes me miss the market, a trip to Seattle might be on the clipboard in the near future lol. Thankfully, Seattle isn't far away from home. :)

Oh my gosh those cookies are INSANE! I have always wanted to try one, but I can’t eat eggs, so baked goods are super challenging for me. But one day I’ll just say “screw it!” and eat one anyways! We miss the market so much now that we aren’t full time Seattleites...it’s such a special (and delicious) place!

This was obviously recorded before the pandemic. A lot has changed. Some nice improvements with that highway taken down and patio extended, but so much violence within a couple of blocks almost every day. I haven't gone back downtown since March 2020.

To be honest I never liked going downtown when we lived in Seattle. Unfortunately there are a lot of people struggling. But Pike Place is awesome. They are doing a lot of work down there and I'm excited to see what it's like when it's done. The viaduct was an eyesore at times, but it had amazing views when you were driving on it! I used to drive it everyday to and from work and would shriek every morning I could see Mount Rainier in the morning on the way to work!

I think this was in February! And we started right at sunrise and it's SO worth it to beat the crowds! Some places don't open until 8 or 9 AM though, but at that time of the year we didn't have to wait too long.

At first I was like oh crap! I've been saying that wrong for years and have taught my nephew, niece and son to say it the wrong way! Lol I have lived local my whole life and have NEVER understood why there is always such a long line at this Starbucks! Yes, it's the oldest or the "first" but there is SO MANY within a few minutes walk with WAY LESS of a line! And I feel like if you don't live right in the main party of the city, a good amount of locals go to different coffee places beside Starbucks...I prefer Bigfoot, but since it's only local and far and few between it's hard to find anywhere..

Hahaha we regret how we pronounced it in this video 😂 We definitely avoided most chain coffee shops in Seattle, tons of great local spots. We think the Starbucks roastery is cool though and would prefer that over the “original” location if we wanted a cool Starbucks experience!

I had to skip most of these market options to be honest, but Elleno’s is gluten free (not all of them though!) and they have lots of delicious fruit samples and coffee around the market. In Seattle, you MUST go to Frankie and Jo’s for gluten free and vegan ice cream. It’s one of our favorite ice creams ever and everything in the shop is gluten free! They have the best cones too 😋 I hope that helps some! I’ll try to think of more spots too. We usually ate at the same places when we lived there lol!

Oh I totally forgot! Pike place chowder has GF chowder! There are also some nicer restaurants at the market that are worth checking out, like The Pink Door (they were VERY accommodating with my food sensitivities when I went) and Matt’s in the Market!

I would say Monday-Thursday are probably the best! Google shows those days as being significantly less busy (and the crowds pretty consistent among those days). Even if you go on a weekday, we’d still recommend going early! I’d sometimes go around my lunch break at work and while it wasn’t weekend crowds, it was still busier than the mornings. Hope that helps!

Hi Sze! It was a Saturday morning and we got there right before 8 AM, which gave us about an hour or so before lots of people showed up. It was definitely a lot busier by the time we finished filming the vlog, but we did get to enjoy some quiet time at the beginning! Going on a weekday is even better too (it still gets busy, but not as bad as the weekends). 😄 Hope that helps! Have an awesome trip and let us know if you have any other questions!

It’s a MADHOUSE! 😬 We try to always get there by 8 AM at the latest on the weekends so we can enjoy some quiet time before the crowds creep in (they creep in fast!). Weekdays are definitely better too!

Sometimes the best part of a public market, is the public! While we've traveled down early to beat the big crowds too, it's hard not sticking around to people watch sometimes...sometimes. Of course the public can be overwhelming for many different reasons, but that overwhelming feeling can be exacerbated when visiting with small children, large groups or bulky items like strollers, wagons or any kind of walkers or wheelchairs. The crowds are not always conscience of larger items, regardless of what they are but I've seen it done many times! :)

The crowded-ness does add to the vibe! It is fun to visit when it’s empty, but it’s definitely not as lively as when it’s late morning on a weekend! We try to eat food early and then walk around and people watch when the crowds hit!
