Thanks for demonstrating the macro abilities of this camera. Macro is my favorite mode and def an attribute I appreciate in the Q2. I'm certain to get one, but now I gotta figure whether to get a monochrom or the standard.

That was great and brightened up a particularly damp and dreary day in northern England, I have had a Q2 since just after launch and absolutely love it to the degree that my DSLRs rarely see the light of day now, I particularly like the macro which is excellent, I do have a very nice 100mm canon macro but find myself reaching for the Q it is such a joy. It can be a challenge to use and I particularly remember when I first received it the U.K. was having an unusual flush of butterflies due to a warm spring and I spent hours in the garden trying to capture those that strayed in, photographing twitchy butterflies with a 28mm macro is not the easiest of pastimes but the camera is such a joy to use and the quality of the macro so good that I found it immensely satisfying. Great video You should do a longer version and market it for stress it beats listening to whale noises lol.

Thank you for the input. Should do more with the macro mode. I use it from time to time. I am always surprised how versatile that lens is. The q2 would be my only lens and camera option if I would lose all my Sony stuff.

Nice macros! I think sometimes we think we have to go to these exotic places to get great pictures when in fact we can get them in our own backyard. I noticed that you were using a round lens hood instead of the square one that comes with the camera. Any reason why or just your preference?

True. Great stuff all around if we look closer. Good is from Thornton Overgaard. It allows me to use filters. And it protects a little better IMO. I’ve bent it from falling in my camera. Plus it looks cool. Thanks for watching!

It’s ok. Nice to be able to add filters. Mine is bent, it was in my pack and I took a spill. Mostly I like that it protects the camera and lens more. They always fall lens first. Overgaard should start giving me commission as I’ve sent dozens of people his way.

I recently watched a review on youtube and the guy said that the Q doesn’t have a true f1.7 apature. He said when turning into macro mode and put the camera close to the subject, the camera will turn to f2 or f2.8. Can you confirm if it’s true or not. Thank you for your amazing video.

Correct. The fastest you can set the aperture in macro mode is 2.8. Still shallow as F.
