really helpful, haven't taken piccolo lessons in a few years and i recently joined a wind orchestra and ended up in the piccolist seat since the other two flutists don't like playing piccolo. might ask my flute teacher grandma for these books for my birthday this spring!

I can't believe I missed this informative video, thanks for the great tips. Do you ever incorporate whistle tones into your warmup routine?
@hawaiiflute Жыл бұрын
I never do whistle tones, but I should. 😁 They are suppose to be great for embouchure & air steam control.

Hello Julia. Greetings from Nicaragua. I am a young man of 20 years old. I decided to buy my first piccolo based on some funeral marches that I heard in some videos from Guatemala. From there, I fell in love with the sound of that beautiful instrument. Unfortunately, in my country, there are no people who execute this instrument. I have searched everywhere for tutorial videos to be able to learn from scratch, but I have not found any success. Do you know where I can get videos that teach me how to play said instrument from scratch? Greetings and blessing.

Where did you purchase the custom earplugs? I have the yellow ones.

I got my custom earplugs from an audiologist in Chicago. It was so long ago that I don’t remember who or where it was, other than downtown Chicago. I remember though that I got the audiologist name/company from a Musicians Union ad in the International Musician paper.

Do you have a recommended warm up for helping flute players with the upper register? My high notes barely come out even with flute
@hawaiiflute8 ай бұрын
Good question, and I wish I had a good answer. What are your specific issues with the high register or is it just in general? This video might be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioSkXneerdxslbssi=xoaicrXe10lbSmax

And also, you might get good feedback from the Facebook forum- “Flute Forum”. It’s a very active forum and you’ll get lots of good answers there.

Now I know where the dried saliva is coming from!! Thank you. It builds up on the mouthpiece and eventually interferes.
