This is a bit of surreal feeling. I played in tournaments with the g era and I was topping in locals with machinings which was more control. But now in d series I’m playing orfist masques which is kinda combo. Kinda aggro mostly with getting 5 attacks on my first G3 turn if I get into masques. And if I play my cards right the tokens I end up spawning are way more powerful than the cards I originally attacked with Also since orfist regis and masques both have on place effects to get orders from drop I’ve adopted the strat of reriding Regis. Using masque of hydragrum to re persona into masques because I just need to pitch 2 orders for drive +1. So I just get them both back and call it a day.

Sounds like you have a clear understanding of your deck. I would say Orfist falls into the Aggro-Combo realm of deck building. As you stated, with the proper amount of support in the correct position and your luck hopefully being on the better side that day, the deck can become terrifying.

@@primevanguard I’m still dusting off my vanguard skills as after g the usual shop I went to stopped selling vanguard indefinitely so I’ve forgotten when to guard effectively. Machinings were easy because hypothetically I could do something every turn and you’d have to waste more resources to undo my paralysis. But with orfist it feels weird especially with decks that can restand like daiyusha I never understood when to guard because orfist needs counterblast but daiyusha just can almost consistently do 2 crit attacks and can restand Also idk why but most masques decks for orfist don’t use the strat of taking the mask off and putting it back on. You don’t really have many other ways to get your orders back so just do that strategy. Get two back. Possibly draw more cards and just go for it

I've also played Kagero since the game began and when in D I've played Dragon Empire. I'm typically an aggro/tempo style player that plays aggro with retiring abilities. I'm also a huge fan of mechanics such as restanding Vanguards and guard restrictions such as forcing the opponent to guard with 2 or more from hand at the same time.

Me too !! If I had to take a guest I assume that you really enjoy playing modern Gandeeva right now, and must be excited for the new Eugene and Dust Storm support, now that, that deck is playable.
@Emptiness91484 ай бұрын
@@primevanguard you would be surprised but no, I actually don't play Gandeeva nor Eugene. I would definitely like to play those decks but atm I currently have access to Varga, Zedhlans, Overlord, Vermillion, Ghryaunndra, Jheva, and Mahar, but I've been playing Varga, Zedhlans, and Overlord the most and trying to figure out different cards to mess around with in those decks.

Great video, I like how you talk about understanding your chosen vanguard along with its support. I feel this is especially needed nowadays due to most decks are primarily archetypes instead of having a chosen vanguard and throwing cards in that can work with it like you could back in the original game format. I agree with what you mean by a 'hive-mind' in terms of deck building as nowadays I see nothing but Shojodoji, Messiah and Fated Ones. Out of curiosity, how excited are you for Dear Days Two?
@primevanguard4 ай бұрын
I appreciate your support!! Playing the best decks in the meta I don't consider that a "Hive Mind" mentality, but choosing not to explore other decks and their capabilities because the meta has been decided for you, is lazy to me. Im excited for Dear Days 2 it's the closet we have to a Bushiraod sponsored online player and it should be up to date with all the cards from Z meaning more time to test modern and older decks.

How about favrneel?Is it a midrange or tempo deck?

Favrneel, could fall under Control and Combo. The deck has massive amounts of retire and you have to set-up for it

What kind of deck is Siana categorized as?
@primevanguard4 ай бұрын
Siana is definitely a control deck, it forces the opposing player to pay attention to their attack patterns and affect their resources during their turn.

Just because a card is technically generic doesn't mean it'll automatically work in every deck. Inlet Pulse teaches you that, Keter people refuse to learn that.

@@primevanguard For my actual deckbuild anecdote, the other day I saw a random Lianorn list that runs 2 In Search of Ideal Far Away, sounds stupid but that card reads "Your 2 Rosarium Fairies hit with up to +30k on your Vivace turn".
@johnnywu87084 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's a big problem. I've seen so many lists run Keter pile with Teithfault and Wisdom for no reason, like Thegrea, MLB, Hexaorb, Minerva, Youthberk, Bastion - you name it. Meanwhile, decks like Rezael, Ezel, Liael and Halmveld should remove the generics. There's just no synergy there. With Ezel, Liael, and Halmveld specifically, they have so many other better in-archetype cards, it's astounding why people would even bother with generics for them.

@@johnnywu8708 The new Liael G2 is amazing, Keter people saying "It sucks because it contardicts Teithfall!" If ever there was a good choice restriction for an upcoming banlist it'd be Teithfall - Wisdom.
