I'm Kathleen (or Kate), a video maker, youtuber and provisional psychologist working in Sydney. Exactly what I needed, literally not seconds before I saw this I was having a conversation with my partner about having purpose and what that looks like for both of us. And I mentioned how my anxiety effects how I show up for that. You mentioning how some days you aren't able to function either and that its okay for that inconsistency to exist was what I needed to hear. Also not sure if you ever get told this but you look so much like Dodie!

How have you found Ali’s book, Feel good productivity? Currently listening to audiobook version. I was wondering if you would do another video on bridging programs and possibly pathways for adult students navigating a career change while also working. Have you met or know anyone doing that? (Psychology from established career)

I’ve read the first few pages and it’s very Ali (in a good way) - I really wanted to support his work, since this book is a big deal for him! I have! There’s a lot of people out there transitioning into psychology from all different backgrounds - it’s fantastic! I’ll see what I can do but my two cents would be to pace yourself and ease into the study, especially if you’re starting from the beginning. It’s so important to aim for high grades in psych and often people coming in don’t realise the high theoretical/stats component. Hope this helps!

@@kathleenanne I’ve been listening to his audible version, it has been rather enjoyable. Kind of like listening to v long version of his videos. My understanding is some of the bridging programmes might result in restricted options going forward too, that is regardless of grades a clinical pathway might not be an option. Does that sound correct?
