Thank you for this video. I’m 31 weeks pregnant and was recently told I have accreta. I’m on modified bed rest in a fantastic local hospital just trying to hold on for about a month so we can get my daughter to 34 weeks. It’s still early and I’m still processing and praying for the best outcome but of course it’s terrifying to imagine the implications. Please pray for my baby and I but I’m so grateful that you are a survivor and that you shared your story. It gives me hope. Thanks again. 💖

I had a placental increta that wasnt discovered until the birth of my daughter. It was never detected, and as a result I almost bled out and had to have an emergency hysterectomy to save my life. I was 24 years old. I have one daughter and she was born healthy. Hardest thing Ive ever had to deal with and never was able to process it until it was said and done. Thank you for sharing.

I think I've heard people mention Accreta before, but I had NO idea how serious it is. Thank you so much for sharing that. It's admirable that you would allow yourself to be made so vulnerable in order to reach out to others who may be experiencing Accreta and to raise awareness of it. So glad that you are healthy today!

I had this on my last baby 4 years ago, spent a month in hospital , huge transfusion , hysterectomy , bladder/bowel injury - feels like yesterday. So grateful for my healthy baby but this memory looms so large for me . Thanks for sharing.

I am going to have an ultrasound soon to see whether I have this condition or not. A specialist will be doing the ultrasound. I really hope and pray I don't. It's really scary.

Hi I had complications with my C section in May 2020 that lead to blood clots that made it to my lungs PE it was so horrible that when I found out I was pregnant again I was terrified After weighing out my options and ended up deciding that taking that chance wasn’t fair since my 13 month old needs me .feeling horrible I made the unthinkable choice once at the doctors office during the ultra sound they realized that my placenta looked stuck to my uterus I immediately looked it up and came across your video I can see the pain and the trauma of that experience still is a very big part of you today I’m still undecided

You have to do what’s best for you! Each pregnancy is so different. I would make sure your doctor is well versed in dealing with accreta. When the knowledge of accreta is known and with good doctors your chances of a good outcome are sooooo much higher. I wish you the best in the difficult decisions you have ahead.

I’ve had 2 previous c sections. I had classical incisions. My high risk doctor said this is something I need to think about happening to me if I were to get pregnant again. I also have other factors like an incompetent cervix, lupus and an antigen Jka. But THIS Accreta thing is what she’s the most concerned about. She said she only would recommend I have one more child (my first one passed away being born at 23 weeks, I have my 7 year old son here thank god because of a cerclage). She says I do have risks of this but if I want to try for one more baby she will take care of me. I have 6 months to decide. It’s terrifying.

I have placenta accreta I am 35 weeks and 5 days they scheduled my c section and hysterectomy for November 3rd. So I will be delivering that day at the u of u hospital. The dr said he recommends I get a classic incision even though before he said I could get the bikini cut which is what I had with my son who is now 6. He actually said he will let me decide which incision I want. I’m still trying to decide cause I obviously want the bikini cut so I can hide it but if it’s safer for the baby then I will do the other one. I am so nervous I will be awake during the c section then they will put me to sleep to do the hysterectomy. On top of that I’ve had Adema my legs and feet are very swollen and hard it’s very painful. I’m also really low on iron so I have to get a iron infusion on Tuesday that takes 6 hours.

I’m so glad you reached out! How awesome you were able to make it so far along before your surgery!!! I opted for the bikini cut because of the placement of my placenta. Best of luck with the infusion. You almost there!

I have just been told I have this. I’m 22 wks and it came up in my scan. Thank you for helping by sharing this video. So many ppl say at a complicated birth, well the main thing is that baby is here and healthy. Of course we all want healthy babies but how can mum almost dying be overlooked like that! I’m really struggling at the moment!

I was diagnosed when the baby was 20 weeks and I just unbelievably survived from this condition. It was so sad that I cant have more babies as I have planned.(2 babies now). I just delivered my second child safely and recovered very well.

Thanks for sharing. I am currently 18 weeks pregnant now and have 2 other daughters who were delivered by emergency c section. My last scan I'm told I might have placenta accreta but it's not confirmed until I have my next scan at 21 weeks pregnancy. If it's confirmed I have this then I don't know what advice the midwife will give me, so hoping I don't have this at all.
