Advice to My Younger Motorcyclist Self

Tempering motorcycle passion when raising a family is a real world consideration and your comments on this issue is spot on. So too is passing on the legacy when your child comes of age. This was my experience last year when seemingly out of the blue my youngest announced that he wanted to learn how to ride and get into motorcycling. Needless to say I had mixed emotions. On the one hand I wanted him to discover all the challenges & joys that go along with riding. On the other hand I did not and do not want to see him get seriously hurt or killed while pursuing this passion. Building on that "all the gear all the time" credo we've added a Helite Turtle-2 air-bag vest which has gone a long way to adding to his parents (even myself, who rides!) peace of mind. Thanks for "writing this letter" to your younger self and for sharing it with your fellow passionate motorcyclists! OMT, your spot on about the Gold Wing! Thanks again for your presentation and til the next installment of MFE... Keep Wingin' It!

I really do enjoy your content. thank you for putting together your videos. Maybe it's that I suspect we're near the same age and learned a lot of wisdom the way you said it's gained! Your version of Brad Paisley's 'If I could write a letter to me". I guess we all, at some point, look back and are humble enough to know we weren't as perfect and invincible as we thought we were at the time 🙂.
