Good points, the person pitching is a writer. His job is to write. He is not the director/producer/actor. Everyone has a role to play and his role is to tell the story, nothing else. Some people deviate to atmosphere or say how the poster of the movie would be cos they are trying to give you the tone of the movie. A comedy and a tragedy can be based on the same story :)

When writers write their story in 2 years, then how can they pitch their story in 2 minutes. How can a director or producer understand? If you can't listen to the script with patience, then how can you make the film with patience.

The industry is what it is- ruthless and cutthroat. All they want to know "Can the story be sold to a mass audience? " They dont care if the story is good. Bajarangi Bhaijaan was never a good story. But it was made into a good film.

well that is the way even in the international industry, if you cant provide a logline for your story in one sentence, it means you dont have any focus for your story, if you cant narrate its premise in 2 minutes, it means you havent really explored, and if you cant present a synopsis in 10 minutes, it means you never though it through actually, that is the way, you look at any great film, and you can tell its logline in one sentence like for Silence of the Lambs - to catch a serial killer, an FBI agent must take help from an imprisoned psycopath, or for Lagaan - to save their village from farm taxes, a group of ordinary villagers must band together to play against a professional british cricket team.

What Kabir is saying - You give me a marketable story, I will turn it into a film. You don't set the atmosphere, I set the atmosphere because I'm the director. Director shouldn't pitch stories to other directors, that the lesson here

Do not agree on the music comment, for some writers music its paramount to the story as the story itself... An example: Baby Driver... The director sent to executives iPads with the music attached to the scenes on the Script.

But that's not his first film...the director of the baby driver is already an established writer-director. And we all know Edgar Wright can flick his fingers and do anything.

Baby Driver has music as its main component. Infact you can say music is one of the characters of Baby Driver. That's not the case with majority of the films. Hence, there's no point in describing about the music, location and costumes in detail to the director / producer / actor. Stick to the main storyline.

कबीर खान बोल रहे है कि फ़िल्म की स्टार्टिंग बड़े बड़े पहाड़ , लोकेशन्स दिखा कर मत करो सीधा कहानी पर आओ आप राइटर हो तो लोकेशन के बारे में मत लिखो डायरेक्टर डिसाइड कर लेंगे की क्या दिखाना है । आगे कहते है कि ऑडियंस को आने वाले 10 मिनट में कहानी समझ मे आ जानी चाहिये कहानी किस दिशा की ओर जा रही है । फ़िल्म में जिन एक्टर्स को रखा जा रहा है वो उन कैरेक्टर्स को लेकर उत्साहित हो और उन्हें अपने आप पर विस्वास हो

I think in Bollywood the Kahawat "Chaai Se Zyada Keitli Garam" suits perfectly. Sent a registered story to Dharma and Excel both rejected by saying the same thing, we are not looking for this right now. I'm telling you if you can get the main Actor onboard these people will run after you like you are the only writer. Also, I think it's impossible to contact Farhan, Ritesh or Karab Johar sir directly. If we can then the scenario could be different. Let's see if I could make it.

सच तो ये है कि Films Stars जो भी फिल्में बनाते हैं अपनी ही स्टोरी पर फ़िल्म बनाते हैं। किसी बाहर वाले कि फिल्म स्टोरी को सुनते तक नहीं। इन लोगों की नज़र में अपने ही प्रोडक्शन हाउस की फ़िल्म स्टोरी बेस्ट होती हैं। चाहे फ़िल्म कितनी ही घटिया हो? सैंकड़ो फ़िल्म हर साल फ्लॉप हो जाती हैं लेकिन बाहर की स्क्रिप्ट इन लोगों को मंजूर नहीं। और बेचारे जिनके पास अच्छी स्क्रिप्ट हैं उन लोगों के पास पैसे नहीं होते। कोई एक प्रोडक्शन हाउस बता दो जिनके खुद की लिखी हुई स्क्रिप्ट पर फिल्म फ्लॉप नहीं हुई हो। सच तो ये है लोग डरते हैं कि कहीं फ़िल्म का सारा क्रेडिट न्यू स्क्रिप्ट राईटर न ले जाएं। इन लोगों की स्क्रिप्ट में गालियाँ तक होती हैं।
