I love vulnerable chats like these. Also, I want to comment on the body image part because it makes me sad knowing that everyone, especially women and young girls, have issues with their bodies. I have never looked at another person and thought “oh, their body looks so bad” or “have they gained weight?” Because it’s so disrespectful and irrelevant. It’s one of the main reasons I try to stay away from tiktok, it’s very sad. I think everyone is beautiful and worth more than the size, shape, or height of their body. Try not to worry so much about it, and certainly don’t let another human dictate how you feel about yourself. You’re greater than you think. :) thanks for the video Cary’s!! (Sorry for the long comment lol)

This related to the “girl pretty” vs “boy pretty” girls won’t notice the change because we know how much society puts us down so we always just see them as pretty, where as “boy pretty” will notice the smallest stretch mark that they didn’t see before pop up and will cause so many issues for themselves or have others give them a hard time because they are told that this woman(or man) has to look a certain way and it’s so unbelievably toxic

deleting TikTok and Instagram was the best choice I’ve decided last year. I‘m a sensitive, empathic person and for me it was so stressful using those social platforms and it led me to overthink. I would recommend it to everyone who is feeling overwhelmed with all these stupid trends going around. Also it is really bad for your brain searching for dopamine on your phone. My fear was being left out when it comes to deleting social platforms. But there are many other ways to stay connected without damaging yourself. (Podcasts, reading, KZbin in some ways,…) For me it was a good choice and I would recommend it.

Same!!! I deleted them 3-ish months ago and at the start i didn't really notice the difference aside from having this weird twitch to scroll but it's crept up on me now. I feel so much less anxious and so much happier in my body and myself - I also started feeling like a cool person again aha (and I have so much more time!! like SOOOO MUCH). I was so worried i would feel less connected to my friends (esp. as I moved interstate for uni) but I actually have never spoken to my friends more than I do now. Its' the best thing i've ever done for myself and i would recommend it 1 million times over to anyone as well!

A thing that helped me A LOT with my body image was looking at different people (girls especially) and actually noticing how beautiful they all looked to me. They all had different bodies (short, tall, curvy, super fit, thin...) but no matter what I always felt like they were beautiful. Each body was just right for the person it belonged to. I tried to direct this neutrality towards my body as well, to feel as I'm just part of a group of BILLIONS of people, and EVERYONE has his/here own body, and that's ok. It's just bodies. What matters about ourselves is our heart, our kindness, our curiosity, our uniqueness. Our body really is the least interesting thing about us. And each body is just a body, beautiful in its own way.

what you said about body image is SO important. i went through the exact same thing my first year of college and experienced similar feelings of disliking my body. it's such a shitty feeling, but i appreciate you mentioning it bc it is so wildly normal. your body at 20 isn't going to look the same as it did when you were 16 as you grow up and your metabolism slows. i also think the transition of moving out and cooking/feeding yourself can definitely affect your relationship with food, weight, and your body.

Bro that's y everyone workout everyday or day after day, it's easy bro 1 hour of workout, just not get boring & don't waste ur time just using social media more, use that time to workout before go to bed, i tried it & I'm succeeded myself 😂

i so appreciate your vulnerability!! with regards to the body image issues, 2nd puberty is so real. i’m 20 now but when i was 18 the same thing happened to me and i felt super insecure, but as i grow i feel all of my features settling in more to being a woman, and my proportions evening out. it’s okay and normal to gain weight, your beauty is innate and your body will always be in flux

as a 23 year old girly, the second puberty thing is so true!!! even in your 20s, you will grow more into your own body if that makes sense. it is tough to watch yourself change like that when you do not expect it, even if other people don't seem to notice. but just like you said, i guess it is part of "womanhood" and just being a human in general. love that you spoke so openly about it :)

It’s crazy how people always hate something about their bodies when it is not even noticeable to others. Even models who seem to be so confident and comfortable in their bodies have days when they just wish they could change a curve or a size or something, and nobody’s ever satisfied. Literally nobody can fit the “perfect image” because it doesn’t exist. Trying to be healthy and keep your body alive is all that matters.

these tiktok trends are getting out of hand. i never ever thought of smile lines as an insecurity. i didn't even know they were a thing. now i can't go to uni wo wearing concealer and i caught myself trying not to smile. all because of a random tiktok video. thank god i realised where that was going but i can't even imagine how someone who's extremely sensitive about their body, might be dealing with it... thanks for the video Cary !! this week has been so stressful with school and economical struggle and so many other things. so i'm rlly grateful for this video. it makes me less anxious knowing that it's not just me going through this womanhood thing. love u sm and have a nice stay at home

my personal advice on relationship is to date your friend. honestly i kinda always had the mindset that you shouldn't date someone to just have a bf or gf, so my first relationship happened when i was 18 with my friend. time passed and even though we've been a couple for quite a while now we're stll like bestest friends of each other whuvh in my opinion is a key to keeping a relationship healthy and trustworthy

I never gave you my standard uni advice Carys. Not that the state of me there would be much to go on. It's more what I should have done. 1) is know the escape routes to the country. I know you get back to Cymru a lot but I mean The Peaks and stuff. (2) Cheap bike. Expensive lock. as for SAD, I've got one of them fancy lights than you can get quite cheap.

Since I was 20 (33 now), i gained and lost a little more weight 7 times, the first times it went away by its own, the last time (turning 30) i had to do something. but the weight is back again for 2,5 years now already and I try to embrace it, dress it so that it looks good the way it is.
