Wonderful. I'm 74 and saw Donovan play. My uncle's club had a dozen season tickets to Giants games. This was the 50's and 60's before computers. The Giants were always sold out but a few times during the year, he would take my cousin and I to the game. He would go to the ticket booth and say he left his tickets home. They would look up his name and he would pay for the replacement tickets. My cousin and I had the original tix, so we all got in but my cousin ands I had no seats. We would walk around the stadium and watch the game. Saw some of the all time greats; Unitas, Jim Brown, Bobby Mitchell, Berry, Lenny Moore, Bednarik, Night Train, Bobby Layne, Van Brocklin and many many more. Wouldn't trade that era of football (and baseball) for any other!!!!

His Sister Joan died last year at age 95 and was an executive with Merrill Lynch working until age 91. She was a female pioneer in the world of Wall Street. A favorite story among her coworkers was when Joan was recognized in one of the Merrill Lynch Inner Circle Clubs and was awarded a "Red Jacket." She was the only female broker and there were only male jackets.

While serving in the Marine Corps in the Pacific during WW2 Art Jr. ran into his father Art Sr., who was by then serving in his 3rd war, and advised him not to get his ass shot off. Incredible.🌏

Art played in City Stadium until 1957 when the new City Stadium was built which today is Lambeau Field. It became Lambeau Field after Curly Lambeau died in 1965. Snyder was not prepared! If you watch the 1961 NFL title game between the Giants and the Packers, you see it was named City Stadium or New City Stadium and was small under 33,000 people!

SNYDER, R.I.P., was originally from MILWAUKEE and was using today’s name to reference the stadium for that days’(1998)audiences. You don’t think he knew that LAMBEAU used to be City Stadium?

Why do I have the feeling that Tom went the entire interview thinking Artie played for the Packers. SMH

SNYDER ASKS HIM HOW LONG HE PLAYED FOR GREEN BAY ??
@robertsprouse928210 ай бұрын
He meant “played for Baltimore” vs. GREEN BAY or at GBAY. Both the COLTS and GBAY were in the Western Conference. Fun fact.. Donovan played for two different versions of the COLTS, the ones that originally came over from the old AAFC, which folded in 1950’s offseason, and the new ones that came to BALTY from DALLAS in 1953. He also played for the now defunct NY YANKS, the team whose player contracts were bought by the DALLAS TEXANS(NFL VERSION)ownership and later were taken by the newer BALT. Colts.
