Advocacy before the Inter American System for the Protection of Human Rights

This five-part animated video explains the role, functions, and procedures of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and Inter-American Court of Human Rights, which monitor and protect individuals' and communities' rights through the Americas. Advocates will gain an understanding of how to effectively engage with the Inter-American system to obtain justice for victims of human rights violations and increase pressure for governmental reform.

I've been advocating this for years, but these organizations will not go against themselves, they enable and encourage corruption because they are subsidized and glorified by the post-WWII cruel, inhumane and unconscionable Marxist tradition culture of corruption.

@@betweenthelines1699 I will explain why it is not a crime against humanity as of yet. A crime against humanity concerns a violation of specific Human Right. There is no such right for no corruption, and I doubt it will be included any time soon as there are other rights that already sort of address that namely right to fair elections, right to representation etc. If these are adhered to corruption can be addressed by simply electing a new government. Corruption is thus considered a matter that can be addressed internally if other rights, which you can vindicate in these organisations, are adhered to therefore it is not considered as a crime against humanity as of yet.

@@DennisTjhie Corruption is the leading cause of Human Rights violation around the world. Corruption in government leads to cruel and barbaric wars, destabilizing countries, displacing people from their natural homeland to become subjected to cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment in the supposed civilized western countries. It is not considered a crime against humanity because the biggest perpetrators create the laws and dictate what is legal and what is not: your actions are a crime against humanity but mine are not. Intellectual dishonesty and abuse of power. Simply electing a new government is not a guarantee to eliminate corruption. The United Nations is massively corrupt, they talk about Human Rights while enabling and supporting the exploitation of people around the world. Who runs the inter-American system and whose Human Rights Violations are they addressing?

@@betweenthelines1699 *sighs* I will explain again Corruption is not a human rights violation. All those things you just named which could be a possible side effect of a corrupt government are human rights violations which, again, explains why it itself is not a human rights violation given that potential actions that harm individuals already are human rights violations. The UN can only issue reports and make recommendations it is for the nations themselves to address these issues if they do not there is little in the way we can do other than imposing sanctions or shaming the country. The inter-American system is not a UN body it is a system set up by regional treaties to address human rights violations of individuals within that regional system and only when a treaty is violated that the nation actually ratified. The Inter-American system is severly lacking behind in effectiveness compared to the European one though.

It seems like you want to divert attention from the issue at hand and reason away the injustice of Corruption; corruption of individuals, a group(s), in positions of power, running a government and dictating who gets what and who does not. According to the United Nations……”Economic deprivation - lack of income - is a standard feature of most definitions of poverty. But this in itself does not take account of the myriad of social, cultural and political aspects of the phenomenon. Poverty is not only deprivation of economic or material resources but a violation of human dignity too. Indeed, no social phenomenon is as comprehensive in its assault on human rights as poverty." If poverty is a Human Rights violation, and corruption is the main factor that leads to poverty, how do you figure that ‘Corruption’ is not a Human Rights violation. As an individual who was displaced from her natural habitat because of corruption, to become a victim of fraud and corruption in supposedly civilized western counties, I am not waiting for academics to theorize that corruption is a Human Rights violation, because I know it is. Corruption is the mother of all Human Rights violations.
