At a news conference on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, representatives from several migrants’ rights and housing advocacy groups raise concerns about the federal government’s proposed immigration targets for 2025-27.
Speaking with reporters are Karen Cocq (member of Migrant Workers Alliance for Change), Diana Gallego (president of the Canadian Council for Refugees), Michèle Biss (national director of the National Right to Housing Network), Monieya Jess (undocumented former migrant farmworker and member of Migrant Workers Alliance for Change), Novjot Salaria (international student graduate and Post-Graduate Work Permit Holders Committee member at the Naujawan Support Network), Sarom Rho (spokesperson for the Migrant Rights Network), and Viviana Medina (organizer at the Immigrant Workers Centre in Montreal).
