In Conversation with Trevor

Күн бұрын

Trevor Ncube sits down with Advocate Fadzayi Mahere, Zimbabwean lawyer and politiccian. In this riveting episode, they discuss law in Zimbabwe and why she joined MDC. Fadzayi speaks on the mistake she believes we made during the 17 November 2017 protests as well as the lessons Zimbabwe could learn from the Rwanda genocide. Fadzayi also addresses the President of Zimbabwe with a direct message for him.

@@tauzin7 I find our education coupled with our rather tolerant and compliant culture is a recipe for disaster. We are too docile. Generally we make good workers. Just not as combative and stubborn as Nigerians, Ghanains and South Africans. I'm generalizing here but damn, a small cabal of old men have managed to hold us at ransom for 42 years! I say this without losing sight of the irony in me anonymously commenting sitting comfortably in a couch in the diaspora. But believe this stranger, once I'm ready, I'll pick up the fight for my home soon enough. It pains me to know that all my grandparents have known since "independence" has been unabated poverty. I often imagine at what point did they give up? Do our grandparents ever have any hope? I often feel guilty to be here not starving while knowing life will most likely never get any better for them. Anyways, I'll join the fight soon enough comrades. There is no one else to call for help.

Here is what the country called Zimbabwe needs for its revival. Zimbabwe is broken and here is a Zimbabwean who speaks from the heart about the root problems that have destroyed the beautiful country. Ms Mahere has amazing levels of consciousness about what the real issues are and all points to a lack of leadership transparency and rampant corruption .She is a brave woman who is a real hero who is fighting for humanity. The mundane zanu pf political approach has failed the country and its a thing of the past. Decisions about Zimbabwe need genuineness and robust debates. Thanks so much for the powerful message delivered with such vigour, conviction and fortitude
