In my experience working around homeless, very few are actually forced into homeless “lifestyle” rest are just druggies who don’t want to stay at shelters.

A majority are homeless due to drug abuse and a bunch of other things, it’s hard nowadays to tell whos not going to do drugs and who will, sad but not worth protesting.

Which drugs you mean. Oh you mean the ones overly prescribed which lead to addiction? How hout the ones the CIA pushed into black neighborhoods. You realize poverty and drugs go hand and hand. A solution would be to make these places better equipped to handle drug withdrawl. Or maybe just be a drug zone. This whole war on drugs one puts nonviolent people away and scares anyone who tries to get out of it.

Can't do afforable houseing cuz it causes housing prices to sink and thus you lose a key in your voter base when home owners are essentially losing money on something they own.. I agree. I have watched a lot of content from Cali and when they interview people a lot of them say exactly that. They are where they want to be. Out on the streets. It's hard to comprehend.

Its not hard to comprehend...rent is way too high...and livin with a roomate or stayin in them shelters just means u gotta abide by a bunch of stupid rules that others try to impose on you...sleepin outside in a tent is freedom...u can stay clean n take showers on the beach..especially in warm climates like California and Florida...some ppl work n still sleep in tents so they can save money instead of payin these ridiculous rent prices they got out here

I recently saw a video where homeless advocates where asked if they would take one of the homeless home with them, they all said NO and made lame excuses to why they couldn't. The reporters should ask the people protesting that question.

While drug abuse is a big part of homelessness you must also take into account the high percentage of the homeless who have mental issues. They will not go into shelters nor try to get help nor stay on their meds. The mentally ill homeless also are responsible for some of the unexplainable attacks we are seeing on our streets. It's a serious problem and sad we don't have any protocol in place to deal with these folks.

Also and I know a great deal of them.. A good majority of those mentally Ill homeless people became mentally Ill when they entered psychosis from a 2 week long drug fueled binge of meth and other mind altering drugs. that psychosis lingers and your neurological function in your brain is done. dementia and schizophrenia kicks in very fast. In fact it’s a very very small percentage of homeless people that are homeless because of a mental illness they were born with. A great majority of the mentally ill homeless are self induced.
