Adyar Eco Park also called The Tholkappia Poonga is one of the Hidden Gems in Chennai For Nature Lovers. This Adyar Poonga is Located inside The Busy Chennai City, we have Came Across Adyar Road Many Time but failed to notice this beautiful park.

Direct Walk - in ₹ 20/- (Monday To Sunday)
Morning 6.30 AM to 8 AM
Evening 4.30 PM to 6PM
Guided Tour - ₹ 20/- (Monday to Saturday)
Afternoon - 2.30 PM TO 4.30 PM
(Only Online Booking) (Maximium 100 People Per Session)

Since My Friend was not happy with the guided tour experience last time as the guide did everything on rush, We went here for a direct walk - in by Evening and Enjoyed Peacefully. It Was Amazing to Know a place like this Exists inside Chennai. There is a lake inside (Not Allowed to Get In The Lake )which is said to cover 65 percent of this ECO Park Which is built on 358 Acres on a Budget of 100 Crores. This Tholkappia Poonga was First Inaugurated by Kalaignar M Karunanidhi in January 2011, A Tree Sapling which he planted at that time can be still seen here.
The Adyar Park Best Places to Visit in Chennai Has a wide Varieties of Plants and Tress All Over with Their Name Boards, Also Can Spot Small Animals Here. We Spotted a Snake here, do not cross the areas which are not allowed to walk and has a small temple inside the park as well. Drinking Water is Available only at the Ticket Counter but there are couple of Rest Rooms inside the park and There are Small Huts at many Places to sit and relax, Sculptures of Animals which will surely excite the kids upon visiting.
